Multi-Site Veterinary Operations Manager
Houston / Greater Houston, TX - Neighborhood Veterinary Centers
Neighborhood Veterinary Centers (NVC) is looking for an experienced Multi-Site Veterinary Operations Manager to help lead and support multiple veterinary clinics across the Houston and Greater Houston area.
This role is for someone who has already led veterinary clinics, hospitals, or veterinary teams in an operational leadership capacity and has proven success improving people, processes, performance, and culture.
We are looking for a leader who understands veterinary medicine, knows how hospitals run, and can step into multiple locations with the ability to support Practice Managers, partner with doctors, strengthen teams, and drive operational excellence.
About NVC
Neighborhood Veterinary Centers is a family-owned and operated veterinary group built around service, support, and doing right by the communities we serve.
We are not driven by investors, corporate red tape, or distant decision-makers. We are built differently. Our leaders are accessible, our teams are supported, and our hospitals are empowered to provide quality medicine while staying connected to the people and communities around them.
At NVC, operations is not about control. It is about support, clarity, consistency, accountability, and helping great teams become even better.
About the Opportunity
As a Multi-Site Veterinary Operations Manager, you will partner closely with Practice Managers, Lead Veterinarians, hospital teams, and senior leadership to support the success of multiple veterinary hospitals across Houston and Greater Houston.
This is a field leadership role for someone who knows how to walk into a hospital, understand the people, assess the operation, identify what is working, address what needs improvement, and help create a clear path forward.
The Operations Manager will work remotely when not visiting hospitals, but regular in-person clinic visits throughout the Houston market are required. This role does not report daily to headquarters.
You will help drive performance, strengthen culture, improve workflow, coach leaders, support staffing needs, monitor key metrics, and ensure each hospital has the tools, structure, and leadership support needed to succeed.
The right person for this role will be able to balance people and performance. You must be able to build trust, develop leaders, solve problems, support teams, and hold accountability in a way that is professional, respectful, and productive.
What You’ll Do
You will:
- Lead and support multiple veterinary clinics across Houston and Greater Houston.
- Partner with Practice Managers and Lead Veterinarians to improve hospital operations, team performance, client experience, and financial results.
- Coach, mentor, and develop practice leaders so they can lead their teams with confidence and consistency.
- Monitor hospital performance, including scheduling, staffing, revenue, expenses, productivity, workflow, inventory, client service, and team engagement.
- Identify operational gaps and create practical action plans that improve performance.
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, retention, and team development in partnership with Talent Acquisition and hospital leadership.
- Help build strong cultures rooted in communication, accountability, teamwork, service, and trust.
- Ensure hospitals are following company standards, policies, safety expectations, and operational best practices.
- Partner with leadership on growth initiatives, staffing plans, process improvements, and hospital support needs.
- Be present in the hospitals, visible to the teams, and trusted by leaders.
What We Are Looking For

- Veterinary operations leadership experience required.

- Proven ability to improve team performance, operational execution, client experience, and business results.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to coach, influence, and develop managers.
- A servant leadership mindset with the ability to support teams while still driving accountability.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust quickly.
- Experience reviewing KPIs, identifying trends, and creating action plans.
- Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple locations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving, people-centered veterinary environment.
- A true team-first mindset.
You will thrive in this role if you are:
- A builder, not a complainer.
- A coach, not just a manager.
- A problem-solver who brings solutions.
- A leader who can support people and hold the line.
- Someone who understands veterinary hospital flow, team dynamics, client service, and operational accountability.
- Someone who knows culture and performance have to work together.
- Comfortable being in the field, inside the hospitals, and close to the teams.
- Passionate about helping others succeed.
- Humble enough to listen, strong enough to lead, and disciplined enough to follow through.
