Full Job Description

Liberty Pediatrics & Family Medicine is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Full-Time Medical Assistant to join our growing team. The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in providing exceptional patient care by supporting our providers, ensuring efficient clinical operations, and creating a positive experience for every patient. This position requires excellent communication, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while caring for patients of all ages.

Employment Type

Full-Time (40+ hours per week)
Must be available to work within office hours, including occasional Saturdays.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Prepare patients for examination by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and updating patient records.
Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
Administer injections, immunizations, and medications as directed by providers.
Perform point-of-care testing and collect laboratory specimens.
Prepare, label, and process laboratory samples according to office protocols.
Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (athenaOne).
Review provider schedules and prepare patient charts prior to appointments.
Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, and follow-up care.
Refill medications according to office protocols and provider direction.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent).
Previous experience in a pediatric, family medicine, or primary care setting preferred.
CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
Experience with electronic medical records preferred (athenaOne experience is a plus).

Comfortable working with patients of all ages, from infants to adults.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally assist with lifting up to 50 pounds.
Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and sitting.
Manual dexterity sufficient to administer injections, perform testing, and use medical equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
