Seeking Chef de Cuisine at Fellow Mountain Cafe

Calling all kitchen leaders who love working alongside their team as much as building a program... We're seeking a talented, passionate Chef de Cuisine to lead our kitchen at Fellow Mountain Cafe.

You'll be the driving force behind the food that keeps our guests coming back for more — a seasonal, from-scratch menu built on the best of what the Hudson Valley has to offer, and the standards and systems that keep the kitchen running smoothly day in and day out.

Fellow Cafe is a dynamic, from-scratch kitchen serving seasonal cuisine inspired by the bounty of the Hudson Valley and our neighboring farms and purveyors. We run an active catering program and love showing up for local events and our own in-house programming. We're a small, close-knit team that takes pride in what we make and how we serve our guests — and we're looking for someone who wants to help shape that.

Our cafe is open year-round, and this position is offered as a year-round role.

As Chef de Cuisine, you'll:

Lead the kitchen — planning, developing, and executing a seasonal, from-scratch menu across daily service and catering
Work the line alongside the team during busy periods, setting the pace and standard for execution
Set and uphold the standard for quality and presentation across all dishes
Build and manage prep and staffing schedules so the kitchen runs smoothly and service stays on point
Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and compliant with food safety standards
Partner with ownership and the broader team to dream up new menu items and seasonal specials
Own inventory and ordering for the kitchen, keeping management in the loop on supply needs
Mentor and guide the kitchen team, building a culture of craft and pride in the work
