Full Job Description

THE POSITION

Bring your leadership skills to a position that keeps critical operations moving forward! The Corrections Facility Maintenance Manager 1 with the Department of Corrections plays a central role in managing maintenance work that supports facility safety and stability. This role allows you to shape procedures, guide staff, and oversee important projects. It offers a rewarding path for someone who enjoys responsibility and working with a team!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position oversees facility maintenance operations and guides staff who complete daily repair, construction, and training tasks within the institution. As a Corrections Facility Maintenance Manager 1, you will perform the following duties:

Daily Oversight: Plan and coordinate routine operations for maintenance and trades tasks
Staff Guidance: Provide direction, training, and review of staff and inmate worker performance
Record Management: Maintain reports, inventories, and personnel records in line with facility standards
Safety Enforcement: Inspect work areas and equipment to meet safety rules and respond to emergencies
Tool Control: Monitor tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure security and proper use

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Two years of experience as a Building Maintenance Foreman, Utility Plant Supervisor, or Corrections Tradesman Instructor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) with a specialty in one of the trades of Carpentry, Electrical, Refrigeration, Plumbing, Sheet Metal, Machinist, Welding, Painting, Automotive, Electronics, or Masonry; or
Six years of experience in the construction, maintenance or repair of buildings; or the operation, maintenance and repair of utility services equipment, including two years in a managerial or supervisory capacity; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.
