Omron Automation Americas is seeking an energetic, technically curious, and business-minded AI & Analytics Specialist to support the development of analytics, automation, business applications, and AI-enabled solutions that improve decision-making and operational efficiency across the Americas.
Working directly under the Manager, Data & AI Solutions and under the strategic leadership of the Director, Business Intelligence, this role supports the development of analytics, automation, and AI-enabled business solutions across Omron Automation Americas.
The successful candidate will combine business intelligence, analytics, business application administration, and emerging artificial intelligence technologies to solve business problems and improve operational efficiency. This role will assist with dashboard development, business application support, AI-enabled workflow development, process automation, and continuous improvement initiatives while gaining experience with modern enterprise data and AI technologies.
Responsibilities:
Artificial Intelligence & Automation
- Support the implementation of AI-enabled business solutions under the direction of the Manager, Data & AI Solutions.
- Develop and support AI-enabled business solutions utilizing enterprise AI platforms, large language models (LLMs), AI coding assistants, and AI capabilities embedded within Omron's technology stack.
- Prototype and test AI solutions designed to improve productivity and business operations.
- Assist with prompt engineering, AI workflow development, documentation, and solution testing.
- Research emerging AI technologies and recommend practical business applications.
Analytics & Business Intelligence
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Microsoft Power BI.
- Write SQL queries and perform data analysis using Snowflake and other enterprise data sources.
- Support ad hoc reporting requests and provide analytical insights to business stakeholders.
- Validate data quality, investigate reporting discrepancies, and assist with data governance initiatives.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for reporting solutions and business processes.
- Provide additional administrative support for enterprise and departmental business applications including JDE, Cognos, Salesforce, Freshdesk.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work with business stakeholders to understand business requirements and identify opportunities for analytics, automation, and AI solutions.
- Collaborate with Business Intelligence, IT, and global data teams (including support vendors) to troubleshoot issues and improve business processes.
- Document technical solutions, standard operating procedures, and best practices.
- Participate in technology evaluations, pilot projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support cross-training initiatives within the Business Intelligence organization.
- Represent Omron in a professional, ethical, and socially responsible manner.
- Represent the Omron Guiding Principles through personal and business interactions with employees, customers, distributors, and colleagues.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, business systems, information technology, or related technical disciplines.
- Experience developing reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI, OpenAI, or other Generative AI technologies.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively.
- Demonstrated curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence.
Preferred
- Master's degree in a related technical discipline.
- Experience with Snowflake.
- Experience with Python.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps).
- Experience supporting SaaS business applications such as Freshdesk, Salesforce, or similar enterprise platforms.
- Experience working with APIs, automation tools, or cloud platforms.
- Experience using Git or other version control systems.
- Bilingual language skills, English and Spanish
The annual salary range for this role is $95,000 - $112,000 a year, however, base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. This position is also eligible for an annual performance-based bonus program. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
