Position Description:
CGI Federal is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to lead automated testing and quality assurance activities across a major federal modernization and data migration program. This role ensures system reliability, data integrity, and functional performance by developing automated test frameworks, validating cloud-based services, and supporting continuous integration and deployment in secure environments. The Senior QA Automation Engineer partners closely with development, cloud, migration, and DevSecOps teams to deliver high quality, mission critical capabilities.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Automated Testing & Framework Development
Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks for UI, API, microservices, and data workflows
Develop repeatable automated test scripts integrated with CI/CD pipelines
Implement automated functional, regression, and integration testing to ensure system readiness
Quality Assurance Execution
Validate large scale data migration outputs for completeness, accuracy, and fidelity
Execute end to end automated testing across cloud and on prem environments
Identify defects, log findings, and drive resolution with development and migration teams
Support deployment readiness through smoke testing, validation checks, and release verification
Technical Collaboration
Collaborate with developers, migration teams, cloud engineers, QA/Test engineers, and product owners
Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, story grooming, and readiness reviews
Conduct API testing, interface testing, and microservice level integration validation
Documentation & Reporting
Produce detailed test plans, automated scripts, and test result summaries
Maintain comprehensive defect logs, automated test reports, and regression coverage documentation
Ensure testing artifacts meet program standards and contract requirements
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Must have an Active Top Secret Security Clearance
U.S. Citizenship
Bachelors degree and 8+ years of experience in software testing, QA automation, or test engineering
Extensive experience using automated testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Robot, Postman, or similar
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
Strong understanding of API testing, microservice validation, and automated regression coverage
Ability to validate large scale data migration outputs and troubleshoot data related defects
Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting DOJ, FBI, Intelligence Community, or national security programs
Experience testing cloud-based applications or data workflows (AWS preferred)
Familiarity with performance testing tools (JMeter, Locust, Gatling)
Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell
Due to the nature of this government contract, US Citizenship is required.
