The Bilingual Receptionist/Financial Counselor will be responsible for managing the "front door" to Tri-County Behavioral Healthcare Services at the Child & Youth Clinic in Huntsville, providing the highest quality service possible to all clients, visitors, and staff at TCBHC. This position's duties will include the following:
- Answer multi-line telephones in a professional and courteous manner, schedule and re-schedule clients as necessary.
- Confirms clients appointments for the following days, monitor schedules and update staff with schedule changes.
- Responsible for maintaining electronic health records, processing information requests, assembling charts and records, and reviewing charts and records.
- Ensure all clients have up to date financial and demographic information in the client database.
- Responsible for ensuring that authorizations are obtained prior to services rendered, and collecting payments.
- Solely responsible for monitoring and distributing prescription medications to clients.
- Work with external and internal groups and teams and have the ability to manage multiple, simultaneous tasks and timelines.
- Provide empathetic guidance, problem solving, support, and assistance to all TCBHC clients.
- Adept at interacting with diverse personalities, maintaining a calm and professional demeanor at all times.
- Ability to make quick decisions, establish priorities and concentrate on detailed information sometimes under stressful conditions.
- Demonstrate strong and proven problem-solving skills.
- Maneuver client database quickly and efficiently
Schedule:
This position works Monday and Thursday 8:00am - 5:00pm and Tuesday-Wednesday 8:00am -7:00pm, and Friday 8:00am - 12:00pm.
Position Requirements:

High School or GED required.
- General office experience, typing 40wpm, Basic Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) required.
- Bilingual, (Spanish/English fluency) required.

Applicants must have a valid Texas drivers license and be insurable through Tri-County.

One year experience in financial/medical insurance billing, collections, and authorizations preferred.
- Understanding of Mental Health preferred.

Offenses that are not an absolute bar to employment but may be considered a contraindication will also be considered during the pre-employment process. Tri-County will also complete a driver's license check. All applicants, employees, contractors and volunteers will be checked prior to hire and monthly through the Texas Health and Human Services Commission Office of the Inspector General (OIG) List of Excluded Individuals. All applicants are required to successfully complete a drug screening and a physical agility test prior to new hire orientation.
Applicants who are selected for a position in the Criminal Justice/Jail Diversion Department, TCOOMMI, and those who provide services to TCOOMMI, i.e., psychiatrists, nurses, etc., must have a Federal background check by fingerprinting through the FBI upon initial hire and annually thereafter.
Applicants who have lived out of state for two or more years from the date of submission of this application must have a Federal background check by fingerprinting through the FBI if they are selected for a position.
