Full Job Description

WE'RE EXPANDING!

Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Production Scheduler to manage and monitor the scheduling of new jobs and track the status of jobs currently in process on the production floor. Working closely with operations, engineering, production leads, and account managers to ensure production schedules are optimized, realistic, and consistently maintained to meet customer deadlines and shop floor capacity.

This role demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities in a dynamic, production metal fabrication environment.

Duties

Production Scheduling:

Develop and maintain the production schedule for all new and existing jobs based on capacity, material availability, customer deadlines, and work center capabilities.
Manage job sequencing to optimize workflow and reduce downtime or bottlenecks.
Regularly review production schedules to make necessary adjustments and resolve scheduling conflicts.

Order Verification & Job Traveler Preparation:

Review and verify order details submitted by account managers for completeness and accuracy.
Ensure that required specifications, materials, and timelines are clearly defined before releasing jobs to the production schedule.
Redirect issues or questions back to the account managers, engineering, or programming as appropriate.
Prepare job travelers for distribution to appropriate work centers.

Material Issuance:

Monitor completion status of components and subassemblies in the production process.
Issue materials and components to jobs in the ERP system (M1) as parts are completed and ready for use.
Ensure proper transaction documentation for traceability and inventory control.
Collaborate with production leads and inventory personnel to ensure timely availability of required materials.

Job Status Monitoring:

Track the status of jobs in process to ensure timely completion.
Report data discrepancies and production delays to the production leads, account managers, or leadership as appropriate.
Participate in production meetings to review job schedules, priorities, and shop floor activity.
Perform periotic audits of production work centers to ensure the job travelers at each location match the system directed expectations.

Collaboration & Communication:

Work closely with production leads, engineering, account managers to understand and coordinate schedules, materials, and labor availability.
Provide accurate and timely updates regarding job status, schedule changes, and production capacity.

Process Support & Reporting:

Review ERP data, job travelers, and work center capacities to maintain accurate scheduling information.
Generate scheduling reports and job status summaries for internal teams and management.
Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to scheduling accuracy, production flow, and communication processes.

Qualifications:

At least 2 years of experience in production scheduling, job tracking, or coordination role in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment preferred.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a collaborative, team-first attitude.
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, etc.).
Experience with the M1 ERP system is preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic production setting.
