Full Job Description

The Town of Brewster currently seeks a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented administrative professional for the position of Executive Assistant for the Town Manager’s office. This position is responsible for providing a wide range of administrative, technical, and clerical support services to the Select Board, Town Manager, and Assistant Town Manager and serves as the customer service lead for the office.

Under the general direction of the Town Manager, the Executive Assistant will coordinate office functions including accurate record keeping, timely communication, and efficient delivery of services to the public and Town departments. Monitors & processes department attendance & payroll, accounts payable & receivable, and lease payments consistent with budget appropriations. Oversee operation of the mail-in permit program and seasonal permit sales office including hiring, training, and scheduling of seasonal staff. Posts meeting notices, prepares agendas and distributes meeting materials to Select Board and ensures compliance with Open Meeting Law, and produces meeting minutes for Board meetings.

Associates Degree and a minimum of four years of administrative or business experience required, and one-year supervisory experience, municipal experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. This is a full-time, 40-hour a-week position, covered under the Town’s Personnel Bylaw agreement, with a starting pay range of $34.77 - $40.30 per hour.
