Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dining Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation, kitchen operations, and food safety protocols, with a passion for delivering high-quality meals in a fast-paced environment. As a Dining Cook, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of dishes, ensuring adherence to recipes and safety standards, and supporting the overall food service operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team committed to excellence in culinary service.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes, menus, and dietary guidelines with precision and consistency.
Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, braising pots, poaching devices, and other culinary tools.
Assist in menu planning by providing input on dish preparation techniques and ingredient selection.
Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitizing procedures to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Support food production for high-volume service periods while adhering to recipe specifications and portion control.
Handle food with care, ensuring proper food handling practices are followed at all times.
Collaborate with dietary aides and other kitchen staff to meet special dietary needs and accommodate guest preferences.

Requirements

Previous experience as a dietary aide or in a similar food preparation role within healthcare, restaurant, or catering settings.
Demonstrated proficiency in food industry techniques such as grilling, braising, poaching, and general cooking methods.
Strong knife skills and familiarity with operating commercial kitchen equipment safely.
Knowledge of food safety management practices including sanitizing procedures and proper food handling protocols.
Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and high-volume food production environments.
Background in fine dining or restaurant experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
