Full Job Description

CNC Civil Services is hiring a Field Technician to support utility locating and underground mapping projects throughout the region. This is a great opportunity for someone with utility locating, construction, surveying, or outdoor field experience who wants to build a long-term career in a growing industry.

What You'll Do

Locate and mark underground utilities using specialized equipment such as:
Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)
Electromagnetic utility locators
Assist with utility mapping and data collection in the field
Assist in conducting field surveys
Support vacuum excavation/test hole operations
Operate and maintain field equipment
Work outdoors with a small field crew on transportation, utility, and infrastructure projects
Follow safety procedures and company standards at all times
Travel to project sites throughout the region

What We're Looking For

1–3 years of experience in:
Utility locating
Construction
Surveying
Civil engineering field work
OR related outdoor technical work
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Comfortable working outdoors and traveling overnight during the work week
Ability to lift equipment and work on uneven terrain
Dependable, motivated, and willing to learn

$21–$25/hour based on experience

Schedule & Travel

Typically 4-day work weeks (Monday–Thursday)
10-hour shifts
Frequent overnight travel required

Some of our projects are located out of town and may require occasional travel. While this is not an every-week occurrence, overnight stays of up to four (4) nights may be required from time to time.
