Job Summary
The Commercial Construction Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of commercial construction projects from pre-construction through project completion. This role ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company quality standards, project specifications, and client expectations.
The Project Manager will coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, field operations, and project documentation while serving as the primary point of contact for clients, design teams, and internal stakeholders. Occasional short-term travel may be required based on project location and company needs.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing commercial construction projects, with fuel facility and petroleum construction experience considered a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of commercial construction projects from pre-construction through closeout
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
- Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules, budgets, and forecasts
- Prepare and manage project contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders
- Review and process RFIs, submittals, change orders, and pay applications in a timely manner
- Coordinate with the Superintendent to oversee daily field operations and ensure work aligns with plans and specifications
- Conduct regular project meetings with owners, design teams, and subcontractors
- Identify and resolve project issues, conflicts, and unforeseen conditions proactively
- Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates to leadership and clients
- Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes, regulations, and quality standards
- Maintain accurate project documentation, correspondence, and records
- Manage project risk and implement mitigation strategies as needed
- Support project sequencing, scheduling, and closeout activities including punch lists and owner training
- Build and maintain positive long-term relationships with clients, design professionals, subcontractors, and team members
- Travel occasionally for short-term assignments or project support as needed
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Commercial Construction Project Manager REQUIRED
- Proven experience managing commercial construction projects from start to finish
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, sequencing, and best practices
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents
- Strong understanding of contract management, project financials, and cost control
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and trades simultaneously
- Proficiency with construction management software and mobile technology
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability and willingness to travel occasionally for short-term project assignments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in fuel facility, petroleum, or convenience store construction preferred, but not required
- OSHA 30 Certification
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
- Experience with Red Team Go, Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar construction management software
- Experience with ground-up commercial construction projects
- Bilingual communication skills are a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk active jobsites for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to climb ladders and navigate construction sites safely

Work Environment
This position operates in both office and field environments, with regular visits to active commercial construction jobsites. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required depending on project schedules and deadlines. Occasional short-term travel may be required.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
