Full Job Description

Description:

We are seeking a skilled and innovative BIM Drafter/Designer who has a higher-level proficiency in Revit and who also has a passion for structural design to join our dynamic team. Candidates must have a minimum of 1-year higher level Revit experience in the structural engineering field in the U.S. Only those who are able to model complex structures, create/edit Revit families, with the ability to problem-solve Revit challenges, will be considered.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the development and delivery of sustainable, high-quality design solutions across a wide range of projects, fostering creativity and demonstrating technical excellence. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, along with proficiency in various design software.

As a BIM Drafter/Designer, you will collaborate with project managers to ensure that projects are completed efficiently and accurately.

Requirements:

Our Ideal Candidate

Higher level proficiency in Revit is required; must be able to model complex structures, create/edit Revit families, and the ability to problem-solve Revit challenges.
Experience in a structural engineering office or related industry creating construction documents is required.
Associates or advanced degree in a design/drafting-related field is strongly preferred.
Highly experienced in structural drafting, modeling, and reviewing and preparing construction documents.
Advanced knowledge of how structures go together, construction types (timber frame, logs, stick built), structural materials, and fasteners.
Dedication to continuous improvement and professional development.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Utilize software such as Revit for effective design execution.
Responsible for preparing and reviewing structural drawings and documents, ensuring compliance with codes, office standards and industry standards.
Implement redlines from engineers, team manager, and clients to modify and create details and construction documents.
Coordinate with engineers to ensure the drawings meet the design requirements and project objectives.
Take verbal directions and apply that direction to the production of construction documents accurately.
Recognize structural or constructability issues present in construction documents, and work with Team Leader and engineer to resolve these issues.
