Full Job Description

Opportunity: CI TECHNICIAN – Full Time, Part Time, Flexible Schedule

Seastrom Manufacturing is looking for an experienced and mechanically driven individual to join its Tooling Department. The CI Technician will complete assembly and disassembly of compound insert tooling sets, try-out and submit samples to the Quality Department for inspection.

This position requires the ability to consistently follow processes and schedules independently, with periodic interaction with managers and others. The ideal candidate will be a team-oriented individual who possesses a strong personal value commitment dedicated to professionalism, problem solving, and adaptability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Effectively maintain procedures with minimal supervision.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform periodic preventative maintenance on all CI dies.
Interface with team members to perform necessary repairs.
Meet department productivity standards.
Monitor Die Set Performance and Maintenance Logs.
Manage deadlines and shifting priorities.
Oversee all work to and from CI Clerk, ensuring that all tools are delivered to the proper station in an expeditious and efficient manner.
Monitor the implementation of new and existing procedures.
Ensure the Tool Tracking System is current and accurate.
Review all work orders & prints.
Monitor CI Dispatch lists.
Assist in pulling and restocking sharpened tools.
Communicate needs for CI Department to the Production Supervisor, including adjustments to scheduling.
Pull tooling components and compound inserts for CI assembly as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must meet “US Person” requirements per ITAR compliance regulations.
High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and 3 years of experience.
Minimum of 18 months of experience working in the Seastrom CI department.
Ability to read, write and speak the English language with comprehension skills sufficient to understand safety standards and job performance expectations.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to interpret instructions which may be furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. Manual dexterity is required with the use of hands to finger, feel and grasp; reach, push and pull with hands and arms for quick and repetitive motions. The employee is frequently required to lift and/or move 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly subject to hazards, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, where there is air and/or skin exposure to oils and noise.
The noise level in the environment is loud.
