Job Summary
Join our dynamic groundskeeping team as an Assistant Groundskeeper, where you'll play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the beauty and functionality of our outdoor spaces. This energetic position involves supporting the upkeep of the golf course, landscaped areas, and gardens through hands-on work with various tools and equipment. You'll work closely with experienced grounds maintenance professionals to ensure safe, pristine, and well-maintained grounds that meet high standards of quality and safety. Responsibilities
- Assist with landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, planting, and fertilizing to promote healthy growth and aesthetic appeal.
- Operate groundskeeping equipment such as lawnmowers, chainsaws, power tools, irrigation systems, and other landscaping machinery safely and efficiently.
- Support irrigation system installation, inspection, repair, and management to ensure optimal water distribution across turf and plant beds.
- Perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting of materials like soil, mulch, or equipment parts to facilitate ground improvements.
- Maintain golf course by aerating, seeding, and applying pesticides or fertilizers following safety protocols.
- Conduct routine inspections of grounds for hazards or maintenance needs; report issues promptly for resolution.
- Assist in seasonal landscaping projects and general grounds upkeep to uphold the highest standards of safety and appearance.
Skills
- Proven experience with irrigation systems, landscape maintenance, gardening or horticulture practices.
- Skilled in operating hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruners, power tools including chainsaws and trimmers with a focus on safety.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while maintaining proper ergonomics.
- Knowledge of pesticide management procedures adhering to safety regulations.
- Familiarity with golf course groundskeeping or athletic field maintenance techniques.
- Competence in operating company vehicles and grounds maintenance equipment responsibly.
- Strong understanding of power tool safety standards and routine equipment maintenance practices.
