Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Overnight Direct Care Staff member to provide compassionate support and supervision for individuals with diverse needs during nighttime hours. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the safety, well-being, and stability of residents by delivering high-quality care, managing behavioral health challenges, and maintaining a secure environment. Your proactive approach and strong communication skills will foster a positive atmosphere that promotes growth, safety, and respect for all individuals served.

Responsibilities

Monitor residents throughout overnight shifts, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times
Assist with daily living activities, including hygiene, medication administration, and meal support as needed
Implement behavior management techniques to de-escalate conflicts and support residents with behavioral health conditions
Document resident interactions, incidents, and care activities accurately using data entry and record-keeping tools
Respond promptly to emergencies or crises by applying crisis intervention and first aid procedures, including CPR when necessary
Collaborate with team members to develop individualized care plans and participate in case management efforts
Maintain resident confidentiality while working with culturally diverse communities and underserved populations

Skills

Supervising experience in caregiving or social services environments
Strong understanding of child development, behavioral health, addiction counseling, and mental health conditions
Proficiency in conflict management, de-escalation techniques, and crisis intervention strategies
Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or from underserved communities
Knowledge of medication administration, manual handling, first aid, CPR, and safety protocols
Excellent communication skills for client interaction and working with families and team members
Competence in data collection, filing, Microsoft Office applications, and documentation accuracy
