Full Job Description

QUALITY MANAGER – METAL MANUFACTURINGPLEASE REVIEW REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS BEFORE APPLYING

This is a senior-level Quality Manager position in a manufacturing environment. Applicants must meet the minimum required qualifications listed below to be considered. Please do not apply if you do not have the required manufacturing quality leadership experience.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must have:

A minimum of 3 years of quality leadership or quality management experience in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated hands-on experience managing manufacturing quality systems and quality processes.
Working knowledge and practical experience with ISO 9001 requirements, audits, corrective actions, and quality system documentation.
Experience with APQP and PPAP processes.
Experience leading root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities.
Experience addressing customer quality concerns and working cross-functionally with production, engineering, suppliers, and management.
Strong working knowledge of quality metrics, manufacturing processes, and statistical analysis.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines.

Candidates whose experience is primarily outside of manufacturing quality management may not meet the requirements of this position.

EDUCATION / PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, business management, or a related field preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and significant relevant manufacturing quality experience may be considered.
Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

POSITION MISSION

The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring products meet established quality standards, customer expectations, and applicable regulatory requirements.

This position leads the organization’s quality systems and quality team, drives continuous improvement, identifies and resolves quality concerns, implements corrective actions, and promotes a culture of quality throughout the organization.

The Quality Manager works closely with production, engineering, purchasing, suppliers, customers, Human Resources, and senior management to reduce defects, improve processes, maintain ISO compliance, and protect product integrity and customer satisfaction.

COMPENSATION

Salaried, Exempt: $70,000 – $112,500 annually

Compensation will be based on relevant experience, demonstrated qualifications, and overall fit for the position.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Define and prioritize organizational quality goals and lead the quality team in meeting objectives and customer requirements.
Lead, mentor, coach, and develop quality team members.
Conduct performance evaluations and identify training and development needs.
Develop and execute quality initiatives, departmental projects, and continuous improvement activities.
Identify, investigate, and resolve quality and operational concerns.
Lead root-cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions.
Monitor product quality trends, key performance indicators, defects, and customer concerns.
Maintain and continuously improve the company’s Quality Management System.
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 requirements.
Coordinate and support internal, customer, and third-party quality audits.
Maintain and update quality procedures, work instructions, and controlled documentation.
Lead APQP activities and PPAP submissions, ensuring customer requirements and deadlines are achieved.
Support new product launches and ensure appropriate quality planning is completed.
Interface directly with customers regarding quality concerns, corrective actions, and improvement initiatives.
Oversee supplier quality, supplier development, and qualification of new suppliers.
Lead cross-functional problem-solving initiatives involving production, engineering, purchasing, and other departments.
Establish quality performance goals and monitor key quality metrics.
Support cost-reduction and operational-efficiency initiatives without compromising product quality.
Monitor customer satisfaction and communicate quality performance and concerns to management.
Partner with Human Resources in recruiting, developing, and retaining qualified quality personnel.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, customer requirements, and applicable quality standards.
Promote company values and demonstrate professional leadership throughout the organization.
