We are seeking Hybrid Cannabis Candy Makers/Packaging Associate's!
The artisanal candy maker/packaging associate is responsible for the production and packaging of cannabis infused candy. They are essential to manufacturing and processing confectionery products. Through training and development they can offer suggestions to change SOP’s (standard operating procedures) and operate multiple pieces of production machinery. They cook, inspect, start, stop, adjust, clean, sanitize and shut down the production kitchen/packaging equipment as needed. They package, inspect, sticker, label, wax and demold gummies. They are a direct report to the Operations Supervisor This team member aligns seamlessly with our core values, they hold no ego, are accountable for keeping themselves safe and motivating others around them to do the same. They acknowledge individual and team mistakes as well as own them as opportunities for improvement.
Essential Duties and Tasks:
- Responsible for the production of cannabis infused gummies and sorting of various candy
- Identify and inspect raw materials and finished goods to verify they meet specifications
- Observes product quality and identifies non-conforming materials as necessary
- Maintains and updates batch sheets
- Perform specialized tasks at the direction of Quality Control or Research and Development personnel
- Sort, label, package and palletize finished goods
- Comprehend flow and basic room functionality
- Train and operate material handling equipment
- Mentor/train fellow team members on proper standards and procedures
- Complete production documentation
- Comply with all Food Safety Standards
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and ensure proper sanitation procedures are adhered too
- Inspects and verifies product process and product while making adjustments as necessary
- Must be able to work on a moving production line and around heavy machinery
- Communicates with Production Manager as needed
- Verifies proper materials are being used for the correct job and batch number
- Operate tray racks, pop molds, and other material handling equipment
- Identify and communicate problems and production issues in a timely manner
- Interpret and adhere to all artisanal candy production standard operating procedures (SOP’s)
- Meet daily production goals and standards; complete production batch sheets
- Identify and mark materials, products and samples following instructions
- Clean and maintain machinery, equipment, racks, molds and ensure proper functioning and safe working conditions.

- Must be able to work seamlessly with others on the kitchen/packaging team
- Remove products from racks, place them in tins, label, sticker and package for delivery
- Potential to cross train into other production areas as required by the manufacturing process.
- Ability to cross train where management deems necessary

Experience and Requirements:
- Must be able to maintain sanitary conditions for Food Safety
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds consistently and 50 pounds on occasion
- Must be able to stand for the duration of a 8 hr shift with applicable breaks
- Must have basic math skills (with the use of a calculator)
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- Arizona resident 21 years old, with the ability to obtain a cannabis badge
- Successfully meet Safe Serve standards
- Must be able to wear PPE for duration of shift(mask/hair nets/gloves)
- Must consent to and successfully pass a background check
- Must be able to comply with all laws, regulations, and policies associated with the industry
- 1+years working in a high-volume food production facility or within a commercial cannabis kitchen preferred
