Job Overview

We are seeking highly skilled and dedicated Medical Interpreters fluent in Spanish, Polish, and Mandarin to facilitate effective communication between healthcare providers and diverse patient populations. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpretation skills, cultural competency, and a thorough understanding of medical terminology and confidentiality standards. This paid position offers an opportunity to contribute to quality patient care through precise and compassionate interpretation services.

Responsibilities

Provide accurate and culturally sensitive interpretation during medical consultations, hospital visits, social work sessions, and other healthcare interactions.
Utilize video remote interpretation platforms to deliver timely language support across various clinical settings.
Translate medical terminology accurately for both verbal communication and written documentation, ensuring clarity and precision.
Adhere strictly to professional ethics, clinical confidentiality policies, and HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy at all times.
Support cross-cultural communication efforts by demonstrating cultural competency aligned with clinical standards.
Assist with reviewing medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to facilitate understanding of medical procedures, treatment plans, and social services.

Qualifications

Multilingual proficiency in Spanish, Polish, or Mandarin with excellent command of English.
Proven experience in medical interpretation within healthcare settings such as hospitals or clinics.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, translating complex medical concepts accurately.
Certification through an Agency or National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters (CMI) preferred.
Understanding of clinical ethical guidelines, confidentiality policies, and HIPAA compliance requirements.
Demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism under pressure while delivering exceptional customer service.
Experience working within social work or hospital environments is preferred; familiarity with child protective services or medical records review is a plus.
