What You Will Do

Maintain the training-scale water and wastewater treatment plants to ensure that they are operating in a manner that can be utilized to train the students in the one-year Water Quality Control Operations Program.
Develop and prepare instructional materials to train pre-service and in-service water and wastewater operators on maintenance, electrical, instrumentation, and safety.
Instruct pre-service students and in-service water and wastewater operators on maintenance, electrical, instrumentation, and safety.
Coordinate the IEPA water supply operator certification testing program. This includes the developing and writing of new exams, and providing IEPA with the results of the testing.

FLSA: Exempt

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

Drinking Water Supply Operator Certification from IEPA
Wastewater Operator Certification from IEPA
Strong knowledge of maintenance, electrical, and instrumentation used in the water and wastewater industry
Knowledgeable of safety and emergency procedures related to the water and wastewater industry
Knowledge of drinking water and wastewater operations
1+ years generalized experience in the operations of water and wastewater treatment plants
Valid Illinois Driver's License
Knowledge of MS WORD, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel
Previous teaching experience
