Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing authentic and visually stunning sushi dishes that delight our guests. Your expertise in Japanese cuisine, combined with your creativity and attention to detail, will help elevate our dining experience. This position offers an exciting opportunity for culinary professionals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are dedicated to delivering exceptional quality. The Sushi Chef will play a key role in maintaining high standards of food safety, presentation, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and artistry
Develop innovative sushi recipes and presentation techniques to enhance menu offerings
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station in accordance with health and safety regulations
Manage inventory levels of seafood, rice, seaweed, and other ingredients to ensure freshness and availability
Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service
Educate team members on proper sushi preparation techniques and presentation standards
Uphold strict food safety standards, including proper handling of raw seafood and sanitation practices

Experience

Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar culinary role specializing in Japanese cuisine
Extensive knowledge of sushi ingredients, techniques, and presentation styles
Culinary experience with a focus on seafood preparation and knife skills
Familiarity with food safety regulations related to raw fish handling and storage
Experience working in fast-paced restaurant environments with excellent time management skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining attention to detail
Prior experience in teaching or mentoring junior kitchen staff is a plus
