Full Job Description

Overview
Join our dynamic team as a King Food Saver Bookkeeper, where your expertise in accounting and financial management will play a vital role in supporting our mission to serve the community through sustainable food programs. This energetic position offers an exciting opportunity to manage comprehensive bookkeeping functions, ensure accurate financial reporting, and uphold compliance with accounting standards. As a key member of our organization, you will utilize your technical skills to streamline financial processes and contribute to our ongoing success. Your dedication will help us maximize resources and deliver impactful services to those in need.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, and other financial systems.
Process payroll, manage accounts payable and receivable, and perform bank reconciliations to ensure precise cash flow management.
Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger accounting in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and nonprofit accounting standards.
Conduct account analysis, account reconciliation, and double-entry bookkeeping to verify the integrity of financial data.
Generate detailed financial reports, including budgets, financial statements, and audit documentation to support organizational transparency.
Assist with tax preparation and compliance activities related to governmental accounting requirements.
Perform routine tasks such as 10-key typing, account analysis, and account reconciliation while ensuring accuracy in all bookkeeping activities.

Experience

Proven bookkeeping experience with a strong background in accounting systems such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, or similar software.
Extensive knowledge of corporate accounting principles, nonprofit accounting practices, and governmental accounting standards.
Demonstrated ability to handle payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable management, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
Familiarity with GAAP guidelines, financial report writing, tax experience, and technical accounting concepts.
Strong proficiency in spreadsheets and financial analysis tools; experience with budgeting and financial software is highly desirable.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to perform account analysis and reconcile accounts accurately.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
