Medical Receptionist – High-Volume Mental Health Clinic

Liberty, MO | Full-Time | Monday–Friday

Clinical Counseling Associates is a growing, modern mental health private practice seeking a professional, reliable, compassionate, and experienced Medical Receptionist to join our team at our Liberty, Missouri location. As our busiest clinic, the Liberty office serves a high volume of clients, clinicians, phone calls, referrals, and daily administrative responsibilities. This position plays a vital role in ensuring our office operates efficiently while providing exceptional customer service and support to both clients and clinicians. We are seeking an experienced, confident professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys staying busy, and can effectively manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail.

This role is essential to the daily operation of our clinic and the overall experience of our clients. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment while supporting individuals seeking therapy and other mental health services.

This position serves as the primary administrative support for our Liberty office and requires someone who can take initiative, solve problems independently, think critically, and maintain a calm, welcoming, and professional environment while supporting clients, clinicians, referral sources, and community partners.

Compensation

Pay for this position is based on experience and ranges from $18.00–$21.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

Welcome and check-in clients in a professional, compassionate, and welcoming manner.
Answer phones, emails, and general inquiries.
Schedule and manage client appointments using our electronic health record (EHR).
Assist clients with intake forms and required documentation.
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
Process billing, payments, and medical documentation.
Maintain a clean and organized reception and common areas.
Fax, scan, upload, file, and manage confidential documentation.
Provide support to clients who may be experiencing stress, crisis, or emotional distress.
Maintain strict HIPAA confidentiality standards.
Assist clinicians and leadership with additional administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications

Previous experience working in a medical, therapy, behavioral health, or other healthcare setting is strongly preferred.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to successfully manage a high-volume, fast-paced front desk while maintaining professionalism, organization, and accuracy.
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and adapt to changing needs throughout the day.
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently.
Ability to remain organized and accurate while managing frequent interruptions.
Experience using an electronic health record (EHR) or medical scheduling software preferred.
Professional demeanor, dependability, and a strong work ethic.
Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and supportive during sensitive situations.
Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to assist wherever needed.
