Full Job Description

Sullivan's Steakhouse is seeking a Five Star Fine Dining Sous Chef in Leawood, KS!

We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our upscale fine dining restaurant. This is an opportunity for a driven culinary professional to work alongside an exceptional leadership team, contribute to an elevated guest experience, and help deliver innovative, high-quality cuisine.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Executive Chef in all kitchen operations and daily service execution.
Lead, mentor, and develop kitchen staff while maintaining a positive and professional culture.
Ensure exceptional food quality, consistency, presentation, and taste standards.
Assist with menu development, recipe implementation, and seasonal offerings.
Monitor inventory, ordering, food costs, and waste management.
Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety.
Oversee kitchen operations and service in the Executive Chef's absence.

Qualifications

3+ years of Sous Chef experience in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment.
Strong knowledge of contemporary culinary techniques and luxury dining standards.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
Experience with inventory management, costing, and kitchen administration.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
Culinary degree or formal culinary training preferred.

Additional Qualifications

Culinary degree preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience.
Comfortable working in a high-volume, high-expectation fine dining environment.
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
