Project Manager Job Description:

The broad roles and responsibilities of the Project Manager “PM” include but are not limited to the following:

The role of the PM encompasses many operational areas including developing, managing, and mentoring the company crew members toward company goals and revenue objectives, job site supervision and identifying areas of improvement in the company and creating and implementing solutions.

Crew management: The PM manages and coordinates with direct reports (Foreman/Crew Leader) to ensure that the materials and end product are as specified, meets an acceptable standard and generates positive feedback from clients. The PM will coordinate, engage and interact daily with team members to ensure optimal efficiencies and client satisfaction. One of the critical functions of the PM is to accurately assess the capabilities of each Foreman to be able to delegate and train appropriately.

Logistics management: The PM ensures that the materials and equipment needed for each project are mobilized on time, in proper working condition and in acceptable visual appearance.

Customer & Budget management: The PM ensures efficient and effective productivity working toward optimizing each project’s profitability and creating an exceptional customer experience.

Responsibilities

· Proactively schedule home improvement projects

· Build and maintain subcontractor relationships

· Schedule / order equipment and materials

· Manage / supervise jobs

· Create & distribute crew work orders

· Review handoffs from sales for completeness and accuracy

· Communicate w/ clients to ensure customer satisfaction

· Resolve job quality issues in fair and expeditious manner

· Proactively maintain equipment and vehicles

· Assist with collections on delinquent accounts as requested

· Miscellaneous general laborer duties as may be required

· Back up truck driver as needed

· Assist with sales as needed and requested

· Other tasks & duties may be required

Effective Communicator

The job of a PM involves translating complicated ideas and instructions to teams of people, customers, and other department heads. Since the PM will interact with a wide variety of people from different backgrounds, this can be very challenging. While looking at the technical aspects of a job, the PM should never forget about the human element and that people are the backbone of the company.

Cool Under Pressure

The PM needs to be able to remain calm no matter what problems occur. In the event of a problem, the PM needs to have the cool mindset to quickly troubleshoot for a resolution.

The job of a Project Manager can be stressful. This position usually works long hours and weekends. This valued team member needs to be able to remain calm and solve problems as they arise.

Measures of Performance

The following will be used to evaluate the performance of the Project manager:

· Regularly meets performance and productivity targets

· On time performance, work ethic and quality of team and personal development plans

· Provides accurate forecasts, updates and requested reports to Operations Manager

· Ability to lead by example and manage/mentor reports and peers

· Management objectives may be assigned to further measure and reward top performance

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
