Full Job Description

Construction Quality Manager (QA/QC) – Utility & Renewable Projects

Charlotte, NC

We're seeking an experienced Construction Quality Specialist to support large utility-scale construction projects, including renewable energy (Solar, BESS, Hydro) and natural gas generation. This is a long-term hybrid opportunity for a quality professional who enjoys working in the field, collaborating with contractors and suppliers, and ensuring projects meet the highest quality standards.

This position involves approximately 50% travel to supplier facilities and project sites. Mileage is reimbursed, and per diem may be available when eligible.

Responsibilities

Provide QA/QC oversight for utility-scale construction projects.
Perform supplier, contractor, and field audits to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
Conduct site inspections, surveillance, and document reviews throughout project execution.
Review quality plans, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and contractor quality documentation.
Monitor construction activities to verify compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
Manage and document nonconformances and support corrective actions.
Prepare detailed inspection and audit reports.
Participate in regular site walks with project teams and contractors.
Support the continuous improvement of quality processes and procedures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to help deliver successful projects safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

15+ years of experience in construction quality, QA/QC, or quality assurance.
Experience supporting utility, power generation, renewable energy, industrial, or EPC construction projects.
Strong background in supplier and contractor audits, inspections, and quality oversight.
Knowledge of applicable industry codes, standards, and quality management practices.
Experience with nonconformance management and quality documentation.
Strong communication, organizational, and reporting skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Procore and SharePoint is a plus.
Willingness to travel approximately 50% to project and supplier locations.
