Full Job Description

THE COMPANY

Toscana Country Club has an immediate opening for a seasonal part-time Personal Trainer at Toscana Country Club, a private golf/tennis club and luxury residential community located in Indian Wells, California. As the energetic social hub of the Toscana Community, the country club offers a truly private setting where members will enjoy camaraderie, relaxation and sport with friends and family, and an incomparable level of attention and service from our staff.

THE POSITION

The Personal Trainer must act as an extension of the Sports Club. Consequently, their teaching must be sound, and image must be maintained, and be constantly aware of the "public relations" role they play at the club. Personal Trainers must execute all personal training services as designed to be with 5-star club service. Safety for all and a spirit of encouragement and goal-oriented progression with members.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

· Performs fitness assessments using standard protocols in endurance testing and blood pressure, resting heart rate, body composition, muscle endurance, muscle strength and flexibility.

· Interprets fitness assessments, health histories, and activity schedules; consults with members in each of these areas to establish personal fitness programs.

· Report any injuries or limitations during training that cause concern to management.

· Trains in the areas of flexibility, strength training, aerobic conditioning and fitness assessments and strength training.

· Monitors fitness center; assists members with proper techniques, answers questions and provides information about health promotion and fitness.

· Oversees general equipment and condition of room and report items to Director needing to be addressed.

· Enforces condition of room policies and procedures to members

· Maintain a positive, upbeat role, promote and exemplify Company values and represents departmental objectives and interests to internal and external customers

· In depth knowledge of all Sports services with general knowledge of spa menu and up selling ability.

· Customer Service – Follow up on complaints, questions, and concerns; respond to internal/external customer needs in a friendly, timely and efficient manner.

· Teamwork - Develop and promote teamwork and cooperation among co-workers

· Safety – Comply with established safe work practices and attend to all safety-related training provided or made available by the Company.

· Assist in finding the ultimate cause for Member’s problems and institute change.

Inform managers of ways to improve:

a. The overall operation of the Club.

b. Your working conditions

c. The comfort of our Members

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience

· Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A degree in Exercise Science or related field.

Required Technical / Other Skills and Abilities

· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

· Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel

Do whatever it takes attitude, willing to work extended hours and deal professionally with staff and guests. The ability to communicate verbal and written information. A common sense approach in conveying ideas, responsibilities and policies with guests and employees. Problem solving skills a must and a great sense of humor is essential. The ability to smooth over problems and create a sense of satisfaction to the guest and employees.

The position pays $17/ per hour plus 53%.
