Full Job Description

Restoracy and its affiliated companies are a privately held family of skilled nursing and ancillary healthcare businesses on a deliberate path from our current scale to an $100M+ enterprise over the next four years. We are seeking a Controller to build and lead the finance function that will carry us through that growth.

This is a hands-on, build-it role, not a caretaker seat. Today, accounting responsibilities are stretched across the organization, balance-sheet work is outsourced to an external firm, and financial analysis is reactive rather than proactive. The Controller will consolidate accounting and finance under a single accountable leader, bring outsourced work in-house, install the controls and reporting cadence a company of our size requires, and give the executive team the forward-looking analysis — PPD, rate, and margin insight — needed to run the business proactively.

The Controller will be an employee of RSCR Management and will own the accounting and finance function across all Restoracy locations, RSCR Management, Legacy Hospice, Restore Rehabilitation, and CJN Holdings. The role reports directly to the President & CEO and sits on the executive leadership team alongside the COO, VP of Reimbursement, and VP of Revenue Cycle Management.

Organizational Context

We are organized as a multi-entity operating group. As we scale, the executive team must be structured so that nothing falls through the cracks financially and so that leadership decisions are driven by timely, accurate data. The Controller is the cornerstone of that structure.

Finance leadership. Owns all accounting, finance, treasury, property tax, insurance, and reporting across the entity group.
Clear division of duties. The VP of Revenue Cycle Management retains 855B enrollment, billing, accounts receivable, business-office-manager (BOM) activities, and the broader revenue cycle. The Controller and VP RCM partner closely, with a clean line between revenue cycle (RCM) and the accounting / finance back office.
HR & Payroll alignment. HR & Payroll — currently reporting directly to the CEO — moves under the Controller, aligning payroll, labor cost, and benefits administration with financial planning and controls.
Reimbursement partnership. Partners with the VP of Reimbursement on cost reporting, rate-setting, and the financial modeling behind reimbursement strategy.

Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial Close

Own the general ledger, monthly and annual close, and consolidated financial statements for all entities, including CJN Holdings.
Bring the balance-sheet and accounting work currently outsourced, in-house, eliminating that spend while improving accuracy and turnaround.
Establish a disciplined close calendar with clear ownership, dependencies, and deadlines so entries are complete and nothing is missed.
Design and enforce internal controls, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation appropriate to a $50M–$65M+ organization.

Accounts Payable & Cash Disbursements

Own the full AP function — vendor management, approval workflows, payment timing, and expense controls across all entities.
Optimize working capital and disbursement timing to protect cash while maintaining strong vendor relationships.

Treasury, Debt & HUD Financing

Debt management. Manage all debt service and scheduled payments across the entity group.
HUD loans. Lead HUD/FHA (Section 232) loan administration, including covenant compliance, reserve requirements, and lender reporting.
Treasury. Maintain banking relationships, manage liquidity across entities, and forecast cash needs.

Financial Planning, Analysis & Proformas

PPD & rate analysis. Produce proactive analysis of PPD (per-patient-day) costs, payor rates, census, and margin by facility and service line — so leadership acts ahead of problems rather than reacting to them.
Budgeting & forecasting. Deliver budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis with clear narrative on drivers for the executive team.
Decision support. Provide the financial modeling and diligence support for growth, M&A, and capital decisions.

Cost Reporting & Reimbursement Support

Own Medicare and Medicaid cost report preparation, filing, and audit support across facilities.
Partner with the VP of Reimbursement to model rate impacts and ensure cost-report positions are accurate, defensible, and optimized.

Tax

Manage federal, state, and local tax compliance and planning across all entities, coordinating outside tax advisors as needed.
Structure entity and transaction matters tax-efficiently, including for CJN Holdings.
Manage all property tax payments.

Contract Management

Own the financial review, tracking, and renewal management of vendor, payor, lease, and service contracts across the organization.
Maintain a centralized contract repository with key dates, terms, and obligations so commitments are managed proactively.

HR & Payroll Oversight

Provide leadership and oversight to the Director of HR & Payroll, integrating payroll, labor cost, and benefits administration into financial planning and controls.
Ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and reporting across all entities.

Insurance

Manage the general liability, property, cyber and E&O programs for all companies. Run an effective process for renewals including competitive analysis.
Manage the Workers Compensation insurance program including all claims and renewals.

Leadership & Team Building

Recruit, develop, and lead a finance and accounting team capable of supporting an $100M+ organization in the future.
Serve as a strategic partner to the President & CEO and the executive team, translating financial data into clear, actionable guidance.
Support board, lender, and investor reporting and relationships.

QualificationsRequired

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
5+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership.
Multi-entity accounting and consolidation experience.
Proven ability to build a finance function — implementing controls, close discipline, and reporting.

Preferred

Active CPA.
Direct experience with HUD/FHA Section 232 financing, refinancing, and covenant compliance.
Experience supporting M&A, de novo development, and capital raises.
Experience overseeing HR and payroll functions.
Demonstrated experience in skilled nursing, senior living, or healthcare services — including familiarity with PPD economics, census-driven revenue, and payor mix.
Working knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid cost reporting and the reimbursement environment.
