Independent Pet Care Providers — Overnight Sitters Especially Needed
Contract with Amber’s Pampered Pets
Are you an experienced animal care professional looking for flexible, independent contractor opportunities that make a meaningful difference?
Amber’s Pampered Pets, LLC has connected Michiana families with trusted pet care professionals since 2002. We are currently accepting applications from dependable, compassionate individuals interested in providing pet sitting, dog walking, overnight care, and other pet care services through APP.
OVERNIGHT PET CARE PROVIDERS ARE A CURRENT PRIORITY
We have an especially strong need for experienced, dependable pet care providers interested in accepting overnight stays in clients’ homes.
Overnight opportunities generally involve remaining in the client’s home with their pets overnight, following established evening and morning routines, providing companionship, and helping pets remain comfortable in their familiar environment.
Applicants do not have to accept overnight care to apply. However, candidates who are comfortable providing overnight care—even on a limited or occasional basis—are strongly encouraged to apply and clearly describe their overnight availability in the application.
Please note
Applications are reviewed only when submitted through our website:

Who may be a good fit?
We are especially interested in applicants with hands-on animal care experience beyond caring for their own pets. This may include experience in veterinary clinics, animal shelters, grooming facilities, boarding or daycare settings, farms, barns, rescue organizations, or other professional animal care environments.
Applicants should be comfortable evaluating whether individual service opportunities are appropriate for their own experience, skills, availability, service area, and comfort level.
Helpful experience and skills
Pet care opportunities may involve:
- Providing overnight care in clients’ homes
- Caring for dogs and cats of different sizes, ages, temperaments, and needs
- Walking dogs on varied terrain and in different weather conditions
- Using common leashes, harnesses, collars, and other client-provided equipment
- Cleaning litter boxes and handling routine pet messes
- Caring for fearful, reactive, senior, young, or medically complex pets
- Following detailed client instructions while using sound professional judgment
- Communicating warmly and professionally with clients and other APP pet care providers
- Using mobile applications for scheduling, visit documentation, and communication
Experience with overnight care, barn animals, livestock, rescue animals, multi-pet households, or medication administration is especially valuable.
Availability and service opportunities
Independent contractors choose the availability, geographic area, types of services, and individual opportunities that work for them.
APP client visits may be requested throughout the day, with the earliest opportunities generally beginning around 7:00 a.m. and the latest sometimes occurring between 9:00 and 10:00 p.m. Weekend, holiday, evening, and overnight opportunities may also be available.
We are particularly interested in applicants who would like to be considered for overnight opportunities. Overnight availability may be occasional, limited to certain days, or offered more regularly based on the contractor’s preferences.
There is no requirement to remain available throughout the entire service day, work a minimum number of days, accept holiday or overnight care, or accept any particular opportunity.
Because client demand varies, APP does not guarantee a minimum number of opportunities, visits, hours, or weekly income.
Transportation and technology
Applicants need reliable transportation appropriate for the services and geographic area they choose to accept, along with a smartphone and dependable internet access.
Contractors who choose to accept pet transportation opportunities must have a valid driver’s license, legally required automobile insurance, and a safe, roadworthy vehicle.
Background and professional standards
Because services may take place inside private homes and involve the care of beloved animals, applicants must successfully complete APP’s application and screening process, which may include a background check and animal-care assessments.
Pet care providers are expected to communicate professionally, protect confidential client information, exercise appropriate judgment, and provide humane, dependable care for every opportunity they choose to accept.
Compensation
Compensation is offered on a per-service basis and is communicated before an opportunity is accepted. Rates vary depending on the type and length of service, specialty care involved, location, holiday demand, and other assignment-specific considerations.
Contractors decide whether the compensation offered for each opportunity works for them and may accept or decline opportunities at their discretion.
Client tips designated for sitters and applicable mileage fees are passed through 100% to the sitter. Additional discretionary compensation may occasionally be offered.
Because opportunities and individual availability vary, no specific weekly earnings are guaranteed.
