Chief Medical Officer (CMO)

Lead the Future of Recovery Care

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to provide strategic medical leadership and clinical oversight across our detoxification and residential treatment programs.

As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CMO will shape the organization's medical strategy, advance clinical excellence, ensure high-quality patient care, and support the continued growth of our treatment programs. This role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of individuals navigating recovery while leading a collaborative team dedicated to exceptional outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Leadership & Clinical Oversight

Serve as the senior physician leader responsible for the quality, safety, and effectiveness of all medical services.
Provide clinical leadership and oversight to physicians, nurse practitioners, and other medical providers.
Establish and maintain evidence-based clinical practices, policies, and protocols that support exceptional patient outcomes.
Lead medical staff credentialing, privileging, peer review, and performance management processes.
Partner with executive, clinical, and operational leaders to support strategic initiatives and organizational growth.
Ensure alignment of medical services with the organization's mission, values, and standards of care.

Patient Care & Treatment Excellence

Maintain an active clinical caseload, including medical evaluations, medication management, and treatment planning as appropriate.
Guide best practices in detoxification, withdrawal management, addiction medicine, and co-occurring disorder treatment.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care throughout the treatment continuum.
Support safe transitions of care, discharge planning, and continuity of treatment services.
Foster a culture of compassionate, trauma-informed care that promotes dignity, respect, and recovery.

Quality, Compliance & Performance Improvement

Lead quality improvement initiatives focused on patient safety, clinical outcomes, and operational excellence.
Participate in and oversee quality, utilization review, risk management, and compliance activities.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and accreditation standards.
Analyze clinical performance data and outcomes to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and evidence-based decision-making.

Qualifications

Required

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
Board Certification in Addiction Medicine, Psychiatry, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or a related specialty.
Current, unrestricted state medical license and DEA registration.
Minimum of two years of clinical practice.
Experience working within substance use disorder treatment, detoxification, residential treatment, behavioral health, or related healthcare settings.

Preferred

Experience leading medical teams within addiction treatment or behavioral health organizations.
Strong knowledge of regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards.
Demonstrated success in program development, quality improvement, and physician leadership.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
