SUMMARY
The primary objective of this position is to assist with consumer, mortgage, and commercial underwriting, processing, and closing activities on behalf of the company's clients. This position serves as backup and support on an as needed basis for Community Funding Development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Review submitted application packages for completeness prior to commencement of analysis

Examine/review credit underwriting documentation, including applications, mortgages and notes, deeds, tax returns, bank statements, credit reports, and other financial information for accuracy and compliance with client underwriting guidelines
- Apply lending guidelines and underwriting criteria during the application review process;
- Communicate effectively with staff on issues with applicant/client submissions or interpretation of applicable underwriting criteria as it relates to submissions;
- Adhere to timelines established based on client needs and department workflow
- Assist in Annual Financial Updates
- Review and secure portal submittal of applications for the Elevate, HOP, NIP, AMP, and AHP programs with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis (FHLBank);

Assistance as needed with underwriting requirements for FHLBank grant requests on which the Bank serves as the member partner;

Assistance as needed with disbursements and ongoing monitoring of existing grant awards on which the Bank serves as a member partner;

Backup of administrative functions for the Bank's Banzai! financial literacy program.

POSITION TYPE
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5pm. This position may require long hours and weekend work.

Travel is not expected for this position.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

0-3 years' experience underwriting consumer revolving and installment loans
- College degree in finance, economics or accounting; may substitute for experience.
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to be flexible and meet deadlines
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and ability to learn new loan processing systems
Excellent analytical and communication skills (both verbal and written)
