Position Title: In-Store Donation Receiver/Processor
Reports to: Store Manager

PROGRAM STATEMENT: The New Life Center is to provide vocational training in a biblically based environment. This program is designed to bring the discipline of “real Life” experience through the development of good work-habits – as to time and relationships and the teaching of job skills. It gives a man purpose for living, provides a means for him to contribute something of himself into the program and to grow in leadership and responsibility. To give him the tools needed to become a productive citizen in the community.
Position Summary: Responsibilities include but are not limited to, receiving, sorting, and organizing donated merchandise in preparation for processing to retail, wholesale, recycle, or trash. Evaluating, cleaning, and pricing products so that they are ready to be displayed and sold in our Attic Window Stores. Tracking and recording production so that Mission leadership can more effectively review data to make more informed decisions.
Minimum Personal Requirements:
· Must have a sincere love for the Lord and desire to see individuals come to a personal relationship with Christ and grow in Him.
· Must be in agreement with the philosophy and policies of the ministry and be able to view this as a team ministry with a servant’s heart.
· Free from alcohol and drug addiction for a substantial period of time prior to immediate employment.
· Must be able to work independently.
Required Education/Experience:

· High School diploma or equivalent is required.
· Valid Indiana Drivers License and qualify to be insured under the Mission insurance policy(if assigned to drive a MMM vehicle)
· Ability to provide leadership, with good people and property management skills
· Must be able to communicate effectively
· Ability to exhibit good decision making skills within assigned tasks
· Must be able to work independently
DAILY AN OVERALL RESPONSIBLILITIES:
· Receiving, sorting, and organizing donated merchandise
· Make each donor interaction an excellent experience by being welcoming and making it as easy as possible for each donor to give in support of the Mission
· Learn to tell the Mission’s story during donor and customer interactions
· Track the production of donation receiving for Mission leadership to be able to evaluate the data to make more informed decisions
· Evaluating, cleaning, and pricing products in preparation for sale in the Attic Window Stores
· Process donations in a timely manner to meet hourly/daily production goals
· Helping to guide the work of community and resident volunteers when necessary
· Work closely with New Life Center Director and Store Manager and report any problems to them
· Assist in the Attic Window or New Life Center as requested by NLC Director
· Use time clock properly to document time worked
· Attend personnel training and meetings as requested by NLC Director or Management
· As a representative of the Muncie Mission in the community it is imperative that your appearance is above reproach: clean shaven or neatly trimmed facial hair, neatly dressed and practicing proper hygiene. Clean jeans with no holes or casual pants are acceptable. Shirts with rude, vulgar or suggestive messages are not acceptable.

· Able to work with clients who are dealing with extreme difficulties in their life such as substance abuse, homelessness, mental and physical disabilities
· Reports any issues and concerns regarding resident behavior to the NLC Director

· Other duties as assigned by Management
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
· Must be able to bend, twist, climb stairs and lift at least 50 pounds
· Must be able to work in varying climates

Hours:
Generally Monday through Saturday, hours arranged by NLC Director and approved by President/CEO.
Muncie Mission In-Store Processor position is an hourly – at will position.
Background Investigation and Drug Testing:
· After a “conditional offer of employment” is made, the individual must pass a background investigation, which includes a consumer credit investigation report.
· Muncie Mission Ministries may request the successful applicant to submit to and pass a drug and /or alcohol test. This drug and/or alcohol testing may occur any time after the applicant receives a conditional offer of employment. All employees must sign and adhere to MMM Drug and Alcohol policy and remain free from addiction to drugs and/or alcohol.
