Position Summary
Responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies, supplier relationships, and material planning to support Mursix business objectives. Ensure suppliers meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements while supporting both internal teams and the process side of customer needs. Work directly with existing or new suppliers to maintain or become a qualified supplier, review PPAP’s, resolve material issues, and drive continuous improvements with suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
Sourcing & Supplier Management
- Identify, qualify, and develop suppliers to ensure competitive advantage in cost, quality, and delivery.
- Lead supplier negotiations, including contracts, pricing, cost breakdowns, and long-term agreements.
- Monitor supplier performance and drive corrective actions as needed.
- Partner with Supplier Quality Engineers on supplier audits, qualifications, and improvement programs.
Material & Process-Side Customer Support
- Collaborate with customers to align material sourcing with technical and process requirements.
- Support customer needs on the process side by resolving material-related issues, root cause investigations, and corrective actions.
- Ensure materials meet specifications, compliance standards, and delivery timelines.
- Provide timely communication to customers regarding material readiness, changes, or constraints.
Supplier Quality Collaboration
- Work closely with SQEs to review and approve supplier PPAP submissions.
- Support the investigation and resolution of supplier nonconformances, including defective materials.
- Assist in the development of supplier scorecards, rating programs, and qualification processes.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to promote long-term quality and delivery success.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Quality, Engineering, and Operations on APQP/PPAP, product launches, and ongoing production.
- Support design and cost reviews, sourcing decisions, and supplier selection activities.
- Act as a liaison between suppliers, internal stakeholders, and customers on material-related challenges.
Continuous Improvement & Cost Management
- Analyze data and market trends to identify sourcing opportunities and risks.
- Develop strategies to improve supplier quality, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of supply chain processes, tools, and systems.
Working Environment
- Setting: Primarily office-based with regular interaction on the production floor and with suppliers.
- Mobility: Ability to move between office, manufacturing areas, and supplier/customer sites as needed.
- Conditions: Exposure to manufacturing noise, machinery, and occasional travel to suppliers and customers.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to sit and stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and handle occasional material samples.
- Schedule: On-site, Monday–Friday, with occasional travel for supplier visits or customer support.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Experience: 5+ years in strategic sourcing, procurement, supplier quality, or supply chain role in manufacturing.
- Skills: Strong negotiation, supplier relationship management, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge: Understanding of APQP, PPAP, root cause analysis, and supplier quality systems.
- Technical: Ability to interpret technical documents, blueprints, and material specifications.
Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
