Now Hiring: Experience Host & Director of Fun
We are not looking for someone who simply knows how to hold a microphone.
We are looking for the person who can turn a gathering into an experience people cannot stop talking about.
Our Experience Host & Director of Fun will be responsible for bringing energy, organization and personality to live guest experiences—from Colts tailgates for 800+ and watch parties to corporate outings, teambuilding events, office olympics, celebrations and private venue rentals.
This person will be part host, part game-show emcee, part referee and part live-show producer.
They will own the room, manage the run of show, engage guests and make sure every element of the experience feels intentional, exciting and seamless.
What You Will Do: Host unforgettable live experiences
You will welcome guests, set the tone and create energy from the moment the experience begins.
You will use the microphone to explain activities, introduce games, recognize guests, encourage participation and keep the experience moving.
You must be comfortable speaking to both small private groups and large crowds.
Direct games, challenges and activations
You will lead interactive games, competitions and challenges.
That includes:
- Recruiting guests to participate
- Explaining rules clearly
- Organizing teams and contestants
- Scoring and refereeing competitions
- Creating playful rivalries
- Celebrating winners
- Keeping everyone involved, even when they are not actively competing
You should know how to get hesitant guests involved without making anyone uncomfortable.
Own the run of show
You will be responsible for understanding and managing the complete experience timeline.
That means knowing:
- What is happening now
- What needs to happen next
- Who needs to be involved
- What equipment, music or materials are required
- How to adjust when the schedule changes
- How to recover when something does not go according to plan
Guests should feel like the event is effortless, even when you are coordinating dozens of moving pieces behind the scenes.
Control the sound and atmosphere
Music and sound are a major part of the experience.
You will help manage:
- Walk-in music
- Game and competition music
- Sound effects
- Announcements
- Microphone levels
- In-game audio
- Transitions between live sports audio, music and hosted entertainment
You should understand how music affects energy and know when to turn it up, bring it down or change directions entirely.
Make Colts tailgates unlike any other tailgate
In the immediate future, this role will help lead our Colts tailgate experiences.
Before kickoff, you will host games, challenges, competitions and guest activations.
During the game, you will keep the experience engaging through activities such as:
- Football bingo
- Trivia
- Contests and giveaways
- Crowd challenges
- Music during commercial breaks
- Interactive moments tied to what is happening in the game
The goal is not simply to put the Colts game on a screen.
The goal is to create the best place in Indianapolis to experience a Colts game.
Support outings and private events
As our experience offerings grow, you will also facilitate corporate outings, birthdays, bachelor and bachelorette parties, team-building events and private venue rentals.
You will work with the event organizer so they do not have to worry about running the experience themselves.
You will help guests understand what to do, encourage participation, keep activities on schedule and make sure the entire group is having a great time.
Who You Are
You may be a great fit if you are:
- Naturally energetic without feeling forced
- Comfortable speaking in front of groups
- Quick on your feet
- Playful, confident and personable
- Able to read a room
- Highly organized
- Calm when plans change
- Comfortable giving instructions and enforcing rules
- Able to make people laugh without embarrassing them
- Willing to be the center of attention when needed
- Just as comfortable working behind the scenes as you are holding the microphone
You do not need to be a professional comedian or broadcaster.
You do need to understand that great experiences do not happen accidentally.
They require preparation, timing, awareness, creativity and relentless attention to the guest.
What Success Looks Like
You will know you are succeeding when:
- Guests participate instead of standing on the sidelines
- The organizer can relax and enjoy their own event
- Activities begin and end on time
- Transitions feel smooth
- The energy never feels flat for long
- Guests understand what is happening
- Problems are solved before guests notice them
- People leave saying, “I have never been to anything like that before.”
The Audition
A resume alone will not tell us whether you can do this job.
Our interview process may include:
- A short introduction video
- A live hosting audition
- Explaining and leading a game
- Creating an original guest activity or competition
- Demonstrating how you would handle a difficult or disengaged crowd
- Running part of an actual experience alongside our team
We want to see how you communicate, improvise, organize and respond in the moment.
This process is designed to determine whether the role is a fit for both you and us.
Why This Role Matters
At our core, our purpose is simple:
Make people happy.
This position is one of the most direct expressions of that purpose.
You will not simply be announcing activities.
You will be responsible for creating connection, energy and memorable moments.
You will help transform a tailgate, outing or venue rental into an experience guests will remember long after it ends.
Pay: From $35.00 per hour
Benefits:
