Full Job Description

Job Overview
The Accounting Technician supports the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial operations by performing accounting transactions, reconciliations, reporting, and analysis. This role partners across departments to ensure timely processing, accurate financial records, and compliance with internal controls while supporting month-end close and operational accounting activities.

In addition to day-to-day accounting responsibilities, this position plays a key role in improving the efficiency and scalability of accounting operations by helping modernize and digitize accounts payable, accounts receivable, and job costing processes. The Accounting Technician will partner with Finance leadership to identify process improvements, reduce manual paper-driven workflows, and help implement more efficient accounting practices that support business growth.

Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable:

· Process accounts payable invoices accurately and timely

· Maintain accounts receivable records and assist with collections support as needed

· Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies

· Review invoice coding, approvals, and supporting documentation

· Ensure timely and accurate payment processing

Accounting Operations & Reconciliations:

· Assist with month-end close activities and supporting schedules

· Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances

· Maintain organized and audit-ready accounting records

Inventory & Job Costing Support:

· Assist with job costing accuracy and reporting

· Partner with operations and finance teams to improve visibility into job cost data

Process Improvement & Digitization:

· Assist in transitioning paper-based AP/AR and accounting processes into more efficient digital workflows

· Identify opportunities to improve accounting efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls

· Help streamline invoice processing, document retention, approvals, and job costing practices

· Support implementation and optimization of accounting technologies and ERP functionality

· Collaborate with the Accounting Manager to improve finance processes and reporting capabilities

Reporting & Compliance:

· Support audit preparation and documentation requests

· Ensure compliance with accounting procedures and internal controls

· Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and employee information

Administrative/General Duties:

· Answer incoming calls and greet walk-in guests

· Receive and sort incoming mail

· Maintain AP paper files

· Prepare AP checks for mailing

Qualifications

· Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred

· Equivalent combination of education and progressive accounting experience will be considered

· Minimum 3 years of accounting experience required

· Prior experience in manufacturing or job-costing environment strongly preferred

· Must be detail oriented

· Proficient in Excel, as well as the other programs in the Microsoft Office Suite

· Adaptability with learning new software programs

· Provide Exceptional Customer Service – Welcome customers and answer incoming calls in a professional welcoming manner.

· Time Management – Ensure work is completed timely and efficiently.

· Attention to Detail – Display thoroughness and accuracy when completing a task.
