Achievers ABA is opening a new cohort of our no-cost RBT training program. If you've been working with children, supporting people with disabilities, studying psychology or education, or simply looking for meaningful work that grows into a real career — this may be exactly what you've been looking for.
A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a nationally credentialed professional who delivers Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, primarily working 1:1 with children with autism. It's one of the most in-demand entry-level credentials in behavioral health — and a recognized stepping stone toward becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). We'll train you from the ground up, at no cost to you.
We want to be direct about what this program is and what it isn't.
The training is 40 hours, completed online at your own pace. It's free, it's flexible, and it's designed to be finished in four weeks. What it requires is consistency — roughly 2–3 hours a day, on your own time, without someone managing your schedule. That kind of self-direction is exactly what makes a strong RBT, and it's what we look for before you ever see a client.
40-hour BACB-compliant RBT training, delivered through Rethink
Self-paced — you set your schedule; we monitor progress and are available for support
One group collaboration meeting and optional check-ins with our clinical team
Expected completion: 4 weeks
No cost to you at any point during training
Once you complete the training and pass the competency assessment with one of our BCBAs, you'll apply for your RBT credential through the BACB and sit for the Pearson VUE exam. Achievers ABA reimburses the full $110 in exam and application fees after your first 30 days of employment.
After certification and onboarding approval, you'll work 1:1 with children with autism in their homes and in clinic — implementing individualized treatment plans under direct BCBA supervision.
Competitive hourly pay
Paid drive time between clients
Ongoing BCBA supervision and mentorship from day one
Free CEUs — over $500 in annual value
A clear advancement pathway for those pursuing BCBA certification
Full-time and part-time positions available
Pet insurance, performance bonuses, referral bonuses, and team events
We're open to candidates with no prior ABA experience. The RBT credential is specifically designed to be earned through training — you don't need it before you apply. What matters more than your background is your reliability, your communication, and your genuine interest in this work.
That said, certain backgrounds translate exceptionally well into this role:
Paraprofessionals and special education aides who work with students with disabilities
Direct support professionals (DSPs) looking to advance their credential and earning potential
Caregivers — paid or unpaid — who have supported someone with autism, a developmental disability, or a behavioral health need
College students or recent graduates in psychology, applied behavior analysis, social work, education, child development, sociology, or human services
CNAs, medical assistants, or healthcare workers looking for a clinical role outside of hospital or facility settings
Behavioral aides or behavior interventionists currently working in ABA without a credential
Anyone with hands-on experience working with children — tutoring, coaching, childcare, youth work — who wants to turn that into a career
If you see yourself in any of the above, we want to hear from you.
Our clients are served in the afternoons, evenings, and on weekends. If those hours genuinely don't work for you, this role likely isn't the right fit right now — and we'd rather be upfront about that.
You're also a strong fit if:
You're 18 or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
You can pass a background check and are eligible for hire
You have reliable transportation in the Indianapolis metro
You're available afternoons, evenings, and/or weekends
You can commit 2–3 hours per day to complete independent training within 4 weeks
You want to work directly with children and families — not just fill a job, but build something
Bilingual Spanish/English candidates are especially encouraged to apply and are compensated at a higher rate upon hire.
Submit your resume and answer three short questions on the next screen. Take your time with them — they're a genuine part of how we evaluate candidates, and a strong application starts there.
