Through workforce development, education, wraparound support and community partnerships, we help participants gain the skills, credentials and confidence needed to succeed in today’s job market.
We are seeking a motivated and relationship-driven Career Pathways Navigator to support participants in our CDL and IT workforce training programs, with a strong focus on job placement, employer engagement, participant coaching and career retention.
Position Summary
The Career Pathways Navigator will work directly with participants enrolled in New Beginnings’ CDL and IT programs to help them successfully transition from training into employment. The Career Pathways Navigator will identify job opportunities in the CDL and IT industries, build relationships with employers in these industries, assist with resumes and applications, prepare participants for interviews and track participant progress after job placement.
Key Responsibilities
Job Placement & Employer Engagement
- Identify job openings and match participants with companies hiring for CDL and IT positions
- Develop and maintain relationships with employers in the transportation and IT industry
- Coordinate employer presentations, mock interviews, hiring events, and on-site recruitment opportunities.
- Serve as a liaison between New Beginnings, participants, and employer partners.
Participant Career Support
· Teach soft skills such as adaptability, critical thinking, communication, collaboration, resilience and time management
- Meet with CDL and IT participants to assess career goals, employment readiness, barriers, and support needs.
- Provide one-on-one career coaching to build confidence, workplace readiness and job search strategies.
· Prepare participants for interviews, hiring events, employer visits and job fairs.
Retention & Documentation
- Conduct follow-up with placed participants at key milestones: 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and up to a year after job placement.
- Provide ongoing support to help participants remain employed and address workplace challenges when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate case notes, placement records, employer contacts, wage information, job titles and retention outcomes.
- Collaborate with staff to support participant success.
Qualifications
Required
- Experience in job placement, workforce development, employer pipeline, career coaching and career retention
- Ability to teach soft skills such as adaptability, critical thinking, communication, collaboration, resilience and time management
- Strong communication, relationship-building and organizational skills.
· Experience in contacting employers, making follow-up calls and building professional partnerships.
- Ability to assist with resumes, applications, interviews, and employment readiness.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, email and online job platforms.
Compensation
$27.00/hr.
