American Pain Consortium’s Center for Pain clinic is one of the oldest free standing non-hospital affiliated pain centers in the Midwest (originally established in 1993). Our Indiana clinic footprint includes Indianapolis, Greenwood, Avon, and Lafayette while our Ohio footprint includes Columbus, Dublin, and Springfield. We also have 4 Ambulatory Surgery Center locations. Our caregivers build strong teams that deliver exceptional interventional pain management care.

What do we do?

Our clinical multidisciplinary approach to care delivers the correct intervention to each and every patient; each and every time through various pain management procedures including injections, open surgical cases with general anesthesia, physical therapy, and psychological services. Our Providers focus on helping individuals improve functionality to restore a more meaningful lifestyle.

Behind the scenes are APC’s support departments which include areas like Operations Support, Pre-Service, Billing, Human Resources, Marketing, Accounting, and our Executive Team. APC values individuals with a strong work-ethic, embracing why they want to serve in the healthcare industry while maintaining a family and life balance. APC is seeking an Executive Assistant wanting to learn, develop, and grow at their Support Office in Carmel, IN.

Job Summary

The Executive Leadership Associate is a participant in American Pain Consortium's Executive Leadership Development Program (ELDP), a structured 12 to 24 month rotational leadership program designed to develop the organization's next generation of operational and executive leaders.

Reporting directly to executive leadership, the Associate will gain comprehensive exposure to every major function of the organization through immersive rotational assignments, executive mentoring, strategic project leadership, and participation in key organizational initiatives. Throughout the program, Associates will develop the operational, financial, and leadership competencies necessary to successfully lead physician practices, ambulatory surgery centers, and corporate functions within a rapidly growing healthcare organization.

Upon successful completion of the program, participants will transition into an operational leadership position with responsibility for leading business functions, regional operations, strategic initiatives, or future acquisitions and integrations.

This program is designed for exceptional MBA graduates who aspire to build long-term executive leadership careers in healthcare management.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (What You’ll Do)

Complete rotational assignments across all major business functions.
Shadow executive and operational leaders to gain firsthand understanding of organizational leadership.
Participate in executive, operational, and strategic planning meetings.
Analyze operational and financial performance metrics.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies.
Lead assigned strategic initiatives and cross-functional projects.
Prepare executive presentations, reports, and business cases. Prepare Board Materials.
Participate in mergers, acquisitions, due diligence, and integration activities.
Develop an understanding of healthcare reimbursement, compliance, physician practice management, and ambulatory surgery center operations.
Learn regulatory and reimbursement fundamentals.
Present findings and recommendations to executive leadership.
Complete an executive capstone project demonstrating readiness for operational leadership.
Travel to APC locations as needed.
All other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience Requirements

Candidates must have completed an MBA from an accredited institution or be expected to complete an MBA within six months of employment. This position is intended as an early career leadership development program for individuals beginning their post-MBA careers.
Strong analytical and financial problem-solving abilities.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Demonstrated leadership potential through professional, academic, military, athletic, or extracurricular achievements.
Ability to travel to APC locations as business needs require.

Preferred Qualifications

Healthcare administration, consulting, finance, or operations experience.
Internship or project experience involving business strategy or healthcare operations.
Lean Six Sigma, project management, or process improvement experience.
