We are seeking an experienced Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a strong background in public accounting to provide tax, audit, financial reporting, and advisory services to a diverse client base.
This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working directly with clients, analyzing complex financial information, and providing solutions that help businesses remain compliant while making informed financial decisions.
The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of public accounting experience, strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent client communication skills, and the ability to independently manage multiple priorities.
What You'll Do Tax & Client Services
- Prepare and review individual and business tax returns
- Provide tax planning strategies to help clients effectively manage tax obligations
- Research federal, state, and local tax matters
- Assist clients with tax compliance and regulatory requirements
- Support clients during tax audits and respond to inquiries from taxing authorities
- Identify tax planning opportunities and communicate recommendations to clients
Audit & Assurance
- Review financial statements and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance
- Evaluate financial processes and internal controls
- Perform audit and assurance procedures
- Identify discrepancies, risks, and opportunities for improvement
- Ensure financial reporting complies with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Prepare clear documentation supporting audit findings and conclusions
Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements
- Analyze financial records and identify discrepancies or unusual activity
- Review accounting records for accuracy and completeness
- Present financial information and recommendations to clients and stakeholders
- Assist clients in strengthening accounting processes and financial controls
Budgeting, Forecasting & Advisory
- Assist clients with budgeting and financial forecasting
- Analyze financial performance and identify trends
- Provide recommendations to improve profitability and financial performance
- Advise clients on financial strategies, risk management, and business decisions
- Support specialized projects based on client needs
- Serve as a trusted financial resource to business owners and leadership teams
What We're Looking For Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Active CPA license
- 5+ years of public accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles
- Experience preparing and/or reviewing individual and business tax returns
- Experience with financial statement preparation and analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to explain complex accounting and financial information to clients
- Proficiency with accounting software and financial technology
- Ability to independently manage multiple clients, projects, and deadlines
Preferred Experience
- Audit and assurance experience
- Tax planning and client advisory experience
- Experience working directly with small to mid-sized business clients
- Budgeting and forecasting experience
- Experience representing or assisting clients during tax audits
- Exposure to forensic accounting, mergers and acquisitions, or other specialized advisory services
