We are committed to craftsmanship, quality, safety, and exceptional customer service. We are seeking an experienced Carpenter / Truss Builder & Field Measure Technician to join our growing team.
Position Summary
The Carpenter / Truss Builder is responsible for constructing roof and floor trusses in accordance with engineered plans while also performing field measurements at construction sites to ensure trusses are manufactured accurately. This individual serves as an important link between the job site and the fabrication department by identifying framing conditions, verifying dimensions, and communicating critical information to ensure successful production and installation.
The ideal candidate has extensive carpentry and framing experience, can accurately read construction blueprints, understands residential framing practices, and possesses excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Build roof and floor trusses according to engineered drawings and company quality standards.
- Read and interpret architectural plans, structural blueprints, engineering drawings, and truss layouts.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and fabricate wood trusses using hand and power tools.
- Perform accurate field measurements at residential and commercial construction sites.
- Verify building dimensions, wall locations, roof elevations, framing conditions, and other structural details before fabrication.
- Identify framing discrepancies or construction issues that could affect truss manufacturing or installation.
- Communicate field measurements and observations clearly to the truss design and fabrication departments.
- Work closely with designers, engineers, project managers.
- Maintain quality control throughout the fabrication process.
- Follow all OSHA regulations and Omega Truss Systems safety policies.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work area.
- Assist with loading, unloading, staging materials, and other production duties as needed.
- Safely operate company vehicles while traveling to and from job sites.
- Complete all assigned work accurately and within established production schedules.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in residential framing, carpentry, or truss construction.
- Thorough understanding of residential and light commercial framing techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, architectural plans, engineering drawings, and truss layouts.
- Experience measuring homes and construction projects with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to recognize framing conflicts and recommend practical solutions.
- Strong knowledge of roof systems, floor systems, structural framing, and construction methods.
- Excellent mathematical, measuring, and layout skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with field personnel and office staff.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (Required). Must be able to communicate professionally with contractors, architects, engineers, homeowners, vendors, and fellow employees in both languages.
- Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Reliable transportation to during and from work.
- Ability to safely operate company vehicles.
- Ability to travel throughout the Coachella Valley and surrounding cities , Orange County . L.A Country , Riverside , San Diego , Temecula to perform field measurements.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
- Ability to work in both indoor manufacturing and outdoor construction environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a truss manufacturing facility.
- Experience working with engineered wood products.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and lift throughout the workday.
- Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Work safely in varying weather conditions while performing field measurements.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and fabrication equipment.
