REPORTS TO: Director of Golf
POSITION SUMMARY
The Seasonal Golf Shop Retail Associate is responsible for creating an exceptional retail experience for Members and Guests while supporting the daily operations of Hideaway Golf Club's Golf Shop. This position serves as a knowledgeable ambassador for the Club's golf merchandise program by delivering personalized service, maintaining an inviting retail environment, and helping Members select apparel, equipment, gifts, and accessories that enhance their overall Club experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Member Service & Hospitality
- Welcome Members and Guests warmly and professionally.
- Learn and recognize Members by name whenever possible.
- Become familiar with Member preferences to provide personalized shopping recommendations and exceptional service.
- Deliver personalized shopping assistance and product recommendations.
- Anticipate Member needs and exceed expectations through exceptional hospitality.
- Respond promptly and professionally to Member requests.
- Represent Hideaway Golf Club with professionalism at all times.
Retail Sales & Merchandising
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the shopping experience.
- Assist Members with selecting apparel, accessories, golf equipment, gifts, and logo merchandise.
- Accurately process retail sales, returns, exchanges, and special orders using the point-of-sale system.
- Maintain attractive merchandise displays that reflect Hideaway's standards and seasonal merchandising plans.
- Restock merchandise and maintain proper inventory levels.
- Assist with receiving, pricing, tagging, and organizing new merchandise.
- Maintain fitting rooms, displays, and sales floor presentation.
- Recommend merchandising opportunities that enhance product presentation, sales, and the overall Member shopping experience.
Golf Shop Operations
- Support the daily operation of the Golf Shop.
- Answer telephones professionally and assist Members with inquiries.
- Assist with tee time information, merchandise inquiries, and general Member requests.
- Maintain accurate cash handling and daily reconciliation procedures.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of current merchandise, apparel brands, equipment, and seasonal product offerings to assist Members with purchasing decisions confidently.
- Keep the Golf Shop clean, organized, and well stocked.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures.
Inventory Management
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Monitor merchandise levels and communicate replenishment needs.
- Ensure merchandise is accurately ticketed and displayed.
- Maintain stockrooms in an organized and efficient manner.
- Assist with seasonal merchandise transitions.
Operations & Teamwork
- Collaborate with Golf Professionals and Outside Services to provide seamless Member service.
- Maintain the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Follow all Club policies, operational procedures, and safety standards.
- Participate in departmental meetings and training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous retail, hospitality, golf shop, country club, or luxury retail experience preferred.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Experience operating point-of-sale systems preferred.
- Basic computer proficiency, including point-of-sale and inventory management systems.
- Ability to accurately handle cash and retail transactions.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding Member information.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, tournaments, and special events.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Standing for extended periods while assisting Members and Guests, processing retail transactions, and maintaining the Golf Shop sales floor.
- Walking through the Golf Shop, stockroom, and golf facilities to assist Members, replenish merchandise, and support daily operations.
- Frequently using hands and fingers to operate point-of-sale systems, computers, telephones, pricing equipment, and other retail technology.
- Lifting, carrying, unpacking, stocking, and organizing merchandise, apparel, accessories, and display materials weighing up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and stretching to stock shelves, arrange merchandise displays, retrieve inventory, and organize storage areas.
- Receiving, unpacking, pricing, tagging, steaming, folding, and merchandising apparel and retail merchandise.
- Assisting with inventory counts, cycle counts, merchandise transfers, and seasonal floor set changes.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and visually appealing Golf Shop, including fixtures, displays, fitting rooms, and stockrooms.
- Assisting with special events, tournaments, and merchandise promotions, including setting up and breaking down displays and promotional materials.
- Reading merchandise labels, pricing information, inventory reports, computer screens, and point-of-sale systems requiring close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Communicating professionally with Members, Guests, Golf Professionals, vendors, and fellow team members in person, by telephone, and through electronic communication.
. Occasionally working outdoors while supporting golf tournaments, special events, merchandise displays, and other Golf Operations activities.
Work Environment
This position works in both indoor and outdoor environments and regularly performs duties throughout the Golf Shop, practice facilities, golf courses, and Club grounds. Responsibilities require frequent interaction with Members and Guests in a fast-paced luxury private club environment while balancing multiple operational priorities. Team Members must be able to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions, including prolonged exposure to the high temperatures common to the Coachella Valley, while maintaining exceptional Member service, professionalism, and operational standards.
