Salary: $120,000 – $150,000 (based on experience) plus Bonus

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Tax Manager (CPA) with deep knowledge of California tax law, real estate and partnership taxation, and a proven ability to lead client engagements and mentor junior staff.

You will manage complex client portfolios—ranging from real estate developers and restaurant operators to high-net-worth individuals with multiple K-1s. You’ll play a key role in elevating our service model and shaping the future of our advisory platform.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage tax engagements for real estate, hospitality, and high-net-worth clients
Review and sign complex federal and multi-state tax returns (1040, 1065, 1120, 1120-S)
Oversee tax compliance and planning for real estate partnerships, S-corps, and closely held businesses
Provide proactive, ongoing tax planning and advisory services, including estimated tax planning and entity-structure optimization
Identify tax-saving opportunities and communicate recommendations clearly to clients
Mentor, coach, and review the work of staff accountants and senior associates
Build long-term client relationships based on trust, responsiveness, and proactive communication
Leverage cloud-based tax platforms (e.g., Lacerte, Canopy) to drive efficient workflows and accuracy
Collaborate with firm leadership on process improvements, technology, and service offerings

Qualifications

Active CPA license required
7+ years of experience in tax, with strong expertise in California tax law
3+ Years of TAX MANAGER experience required
Specialized knowledge of real estate and partnership taxation
Experience working with small-to-mid-sized businesses and startups
Prior experience at a public accounting firm REQUIRED
Proficiency with modern cloud-based tax platforms (e.g., Canopy, Lacerte)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Client-first mindset and leadership ability
Bias towards action
