The Woods Inn is seeking a hands-on, personable, and motivated Hotel General Manager to lead our one-of-a-kind waterfront property on beautiful Fourth Lake in Inlet, New York.
This is more than a hotel management position—it’s a unique opportunity to live and work in the heart of the Adirondacks, steps from the lake and within walking distance of Inlet’s shops, restaurants, and small-town community.
With just over 20 guest rooms, The Woods Inn offers the charm and personal atmosphere of a boutique property while being the only full-service hotel in the area. The Role
Our General Manager will oversee the day-to-day operation of the property while creating a welcoming environment for both guests and employees. Because we are a smaller, full-service hotel, this is a hands-on position for someone who is comfortable wearing many hats.
You won’t simply manage from an office—you’ll be part of the daily life of the Inn, helping wherever needed and making sure guests leave remembering their time on Fourth Lake.
Responsibilities may include:
- Overseeing daily hotel and property operations
- Leading, scheduling, and supporting staff
- Maintaining high standards of guest service and hospitality
- Handling guest questions, concerns, reservations, and special requests
- Helping oversee housekeeping and room readiness
- Monitoring the overall appearance, cleanliness, and upkeep of the property
- Assisting with hiring, training, and developing team members
- Working with ownership on operational needs, improvements, and property goals
- Helping coordinate events, groups, weddings, and special stays
- Stepping into different areas of the property when needed
- Creating a positive environment where employees feel supported and guests feel at home
The Woods Inn also has a strong and experienced kitchen team, allowing the General Manager to have support on the restaurant and food-service side of the property while still maintaining overall leadership of the Inn.
