Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a deep understanding of sushi techniques. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment. The Sushi Chef will be responsible for preparing sushi and other Japanese dishes while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and presentation. We are looking for a team player who is able to work closely with our incredible sushi staff and management team. We provide the finest ingredients for our team to create the highest quality sushi with care and attention to detail. We are one of the largest buyers of A5 Japanese wagyu. We are certified to sell Kobe. We also import the highest quality tuna from Japan and Hawaii.

Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with the sushi team to prepare sushi and other Japanese cuisine with precision and creativity.
Ensure the freshness and quality of all ingredients used in meal preparation.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety standards.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to plan menus and create innovative dishes.
Assist in training kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food handling practices.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary.
Provide exceptional service by presenting dishes attractively and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the culinary field.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
Culinary experience with fine dining or restaurant environments preferred.
Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques.
Experience in menu planning, catering, or dietary department roles is a plus.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
A passion for the food industry and commitment to continuous learning in culinary arts.
Dynamic leadership and good communication skills.
