Full Job Description

Job Summary

The Community Impact Specialist is Hope Unlimited's primary presence in the community for prevention education and public awareness regarding the Child Advocacy Center and its services. The Community Impact Specialist will foster meaningful relationships, and elevate the Child Advocacy Center's presence within a 5 county area. In this role, you will build awareness through age-appropriate prevention presentations in area schools, staffing awareness booths at community events and developing awareness campaigns surrounding child sexual and physical abuse.

Responsibilities

Track and report community engagement metrics to the leadership team
Research and implement age appropriate prevention curriculums in area schools
Develop community outreach efforts by organizing events, workshops, and public presentations to promote organizational initiatives and foster community involvement
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, local organizations, media outlets, and stakeholders through effective relationship management and media relations
Develop compelling prevention campaigns to raise awareness of child sexual and physical abuse
Collect data on community engagement efforts to measure impact, identify opportunities for growth, and inform strategic planning

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in education, communications, social work, public health or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
Public speaking experience and strong written/verbal communication skills
Self-directed and able to manage an independent, field-based schedule
Valid Kansas drivers license and reliable transportation
Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries
Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends for events and presentations
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for report writing, data collection, and presentation purposes
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and build lasting relationships within communities
Bilingual abilities are a plus to connect with broader audiences effectively
Ability to work within an environment that addresses a sensitive and difficult subject matter

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
