Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our legal team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support a diverse range of legal practice areas, including estate planning, immigration law, family law, litigation, real estate, bankruptcy, probate, corporate and more. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, skilled in time management and prioritization, document management, and providing exceptional administrative support to attorneys and clients alike. This position is paid and designed for individuals eager to learn, adapt and excel while contributing to impactful legal work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and draft legal documents including contracts, pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence with precision and attention to detail.
Manage legal case files ensuring all records are organized, up-to-date, and easily accessible.
Conduct thorough document review and proofreading to ensure accuracy before submission or filing.
Support litigation processes by organizing case materials, coordinating depositions, scheduling court appearances, and tracking deadlines.
Perform administrative duties such as data entry, filing, maintaining calendars for court deadlines or client appointments, and managing incoming calls with professional phone etiquette.
Gather relevant information for case matters while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Requirements

Proven paralegal experience with a strong understanding of multiple practice areas helpful but not required.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence; keen proofreading abilities are essential.
Effective interviewing skills for gathering detailed client information and obtaining information by phone beneficial.
Clerical experience including data entry, filing systems, administrative support functions such as calendar management and phone etiquette.
Ability to do transcription and properly format documents and correspondence.
Ability to be a self-starter and work forward in the file without the necessity of constant direction.
Ability to take direction and retain instructions while working alone and as a team.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
