Reds Alehouse is looking for a professional Sous Chef to be the second-in-command in our kitchen. Reds Alehouse is the premiere place to dine and relax in the corridor. Essential Functions

Ensure daily pre and post shift tasks are being completed by all

Kitchen is being opened in tip-top condition

Ensure enough staff are scheduled to cover shift needs

Assist in training, managing and motivating a team of around 20 employees

Maintain a safe and sanitary environment

Safely maintain and operate kitchen equipment

Work as a team to execute high quality food orders in a time sensitive manner

Provide direction for Back of House leadership team

Works with FOH to ensure successful daily service and special events

Awareness and achievement of food and labor cost goals

Order, inventory and maintain all product

Assist in creating and directing new recipes

Complete tasks assigned in weekly management meetings

Supervisory Responsibility

Yes. Supervises most of the Back of The House staff. Works closely with Front of the House Leadership to ensure Reds is operative in the best way possible.

Work Environment

This position operates in a hospitality environment. This role routinely uses cleaning supplies, high heat kitchen equipment, and point of sale terminal systems.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This position is very active and requires standing, rotating, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position and hours of work/ days may vary from week to week. The business is open 7 days a week during many day parts. Evening and weekends are likely a key requirement.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Preferred Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience working on a full service line is required

Experience in a leadership position is desired

Strong working knowledge of current culinary techniques and sanitation standards
