About Us

Bischoff Accounting and Tax Services PC is a small, client-focused accounting firm providing tax, bookkeeping, and advisory services to individuals and small businesses. We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to help keep our office running smoothly, especially during busy tax seasons.

Position Summary

Bischoff Accounting & Tax Services PC is seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused Bookkeeping & Payroll Specialist to join our public accounting team. This position is responsible for providing bookkeeping and payroll services to a variety of business clients throughout the year while assisting with basic individual and business tax return preparation during tax season.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple client engagements in a fast-paced environment. Experience with accounting software, payroll processing, and tax preparation is preferred.

Payroll Services

Process weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payrolls for multiple clients.
Ensure accurate calculation of wages, deductions, benefits, and payroll taxes.
Prepare and file payroll tax returns and reports.
Process W-2s, 1099s, and related year-end payroll forms.
Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Respond to client inquiries regarding payroll matters.

Bookkeeping & Accounting Services

Maintain accurate financial records for multiple business clients.
Record and reconcile bank, credit card, and loan transactions.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Prepare adjusting journal entries as needed.
Generate financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
Communicate with clients regarding bookkeeping questions and outstanding information requests.
Assist clients with accounting software setup and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

Associate's degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Business, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
1+ years of bookkeeping and/or payroll experience, preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in a public accounting firm, preferred.
Experience with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop, preferred.
Experience with payroll software, preferred.
Understanding of payroll tax compliance and reporting requirements, preferred.
