Full Job Description

Job Requirements:

Summary: This position is responsible for directing and coordinating the statewide APAC contract program -Alabama Pre/Post Adoption Connections.

Minimum Education: Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling

Minimum Work Experience: More than 5 years experience in casework and/or adoption and foster care, management experience. Required Licenses/Certifications: LMSW, LICSW, or LPG. Valid Alabama driver license and auto insurance minimum liability 100/300.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Good communication, problem solving skills. Computer proficiency. Ability to develop, implement, and supervise programs; teach and train; respond calmly and non-judgmentally to others, including persons in crisis, and provide a team approach to service delivery. Ability to demonstrate cultural and socioeconomic proficiency. Understanding of trauma informed care.

Required Internal Certification/Trainings: Bi-annual TB skin test/medical report

List any physical requirements: Travel, some overnight. Ability to lift 20 lbs.

Essential Functions of Position:

1. Oversees the operation of the central and regional offices; guides and monitors programmatic planning and outcomes, resulting in the quality provision of all services.

2. Oversees the planning and implementation of Camp APAC, the annual Permanency Conference, Trained Therapist Network Workshops, and other selected special events as needed; facilitates coordinator meetings and bi-annual APAC All Staff meetings; attends CAS supervisor meetings.

3. Provides staff supervision and evaluation of Central Office Staff and Team Leaders; approves evaluations of all other staff.

4. Interviews candidates for APAC positions and recommends candidates for employment to the Chief Executive Officer.

5. Assesses the abilities and needs of each staff with input from Team Leaders, facilitating the design of appropriate training plans and guiding the development of corrective action plans as needed.

6. Conducts regular individual supervisee consultation, monthly Team Leader meetings, bi-annual staff meetings, quarterly regional office visits.

7. Oversees the creation and distribution of APAC statewide newsletters.

8. Develops and monitors program standards to ensure compliance with the Alabama Department of Human Resources, Council on Accreditation, and all relevant state and federal laws.

9. Coordinates the Quality Assurance component of APAC services, working to assess and implement measures designed to continuously improve quality of service; attends agency PQI meetings.

10. Serves as liaison to State Department of Human Resources; assists in contract renewals; informs OHR Office of Permanency of unusual or controversial circumstances within any of the service components.

11. Assists CAS administration in the development of the annual budget and ensures program adherence to budget.

12. Monitors the planning and implementation of APAC pre and post adoption services; guides the planning as needed to assure program outcomes; participates in periodic recruitment and training activities.

13. Solicits opportunities for trainings and outreach; makes presentations at conferences and professional meetings.

14. Monitors program clinical services, providing guidance and supervision to clinical team leader, ensuring quality service provision, accurate and comprehensive documentation, and timely peer reviews.

15. Oversees the documentation of APAC data through the ETO database; meets all reporting requirements for GAS and OHR.

16. Participates actively in the agency PQI process and serves on agency committees as nominated.

Pay: $58,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
