Senior Survey Technician Job Description

Job Summary:

XEC is looking for a Senior Survey Technician to support both field and office survey operations. The primary duty of this position will be performing accurate construction staking calculations, followed by supporting the office survey operations for land development and infrastructure projects. This role works closely with the Chief of Parties and the field survey crews, project managers, and clients to ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality survey deliverables. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, experience with Trimble equipment And Trimble Business Center.

Core Responsibilities:

· Research and review of title reports

· Assist with boundary analysis and closure calculations

· Prepare exhibits, legal descriptions and plats

· Assist in the preparation of final maps, parcel maps, record of survey and ALTA maps

· Prepare control points, layout, and staking calculations for field crews.

· Coordinate with internal and external surveyors

· Ensure tasks, project schedules and budgets are met

· Provide solutions to Geomatic challenges

· Develop a positive working relationship with clients to promote growth opportunities

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Minimum 5 years of land surveying experience

· Strong knowledge, construction staking, boundary analysis and mapping procedures

· familiar with Trimble survey equipment and related software

· Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, legal descriptions, and topographic data

· Strong math, geometry, and problem-solving skills

· Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks on deadline

· Strong communication and client-facing skills

· Valid CA driver’s license and clean driving record

· Ability to lift, carry, and use field equipment as needed

· LSIT preferred

Job Type:

Pay: $45 – $55 an hour
